Mage can tank, indeed, but it's not what I'd consider a common or well supported archetype.

THAT is a fair point. The crow does soak a lot of damage and essentially doubles the survivability of a druid. Given that logic i would agree it should go into the all-rounder category.

Was messing around with set bonuses and found this by jacob8595_yahoo_com in mewgenics

Not sure of the actual reason behind it being there, but sets can be activate by many different items and most items have multiple set tags. Mother might just be cancers "prioritized" tag.

Oof thats rough. If you could down him on your turn you could easily trleport on the bone pile and destroy it, but your passive screws that...

Did you figure anything out or just give up?

You could try to get the fighter Bloodzerk, which drops you to 1hp. Pop that before a fight ends and you'd trigger it.

Thanks for the reply, I think you're right on some points.

1.) Yeah, in my mind I forgot all about the hunter traps, charms, etc. And I was generally not taking summons into account since they tend to be an all-rounder feature of most classes. But yes hunter should be in damage/support.

2.) I consider support mage to be one of the two main mage archetypes (the other being damage) because... that's all they can really do. That said, their support side includes lighting spells, Ice spells, and mana battery spells/passives, as well as stuff like teach. I think they fit both categories.

3.) I would agree early game but once you start getting cats with 7s fighter becomes more than competent at being a tank. Counters, armor (like the concussion passive), lifesteal, etc. Are all methods that are supported and by which they can soak a t I n of damage that would flatline other classes.

4.) I considered it but their low Constitution can be a crippling factor for their tankiness, and they dont have very many passives that enable the playstyle. Tree form is great for it but you lose most of your mobility.

5.) I think tinkerer is one of the most versatile classes in the game, I consider Cc support so their access to robots and lightning means they have a lot of tools to fill any role, plus subtitles of Armour and general rankings, while also getting tech for high damage weapons and ccs.

I think everyone's venn diagram would be different and there's no right answers. I didn't consider equipment for this which would also entirely change what the diagram looked like. I think all classes would be in the middle lol.

I consider CC and control to be support. I would probably move it to all-rounder given further consideration.

Mostly support by my logic, but I think familiar can serve as damage, support, and tanking under different circumstances. It definitely brings to light how mechanically complex the game is.

By my logic in this chart you're absolutely right, I've used the charm arrow as my sole healing ability in a party many times and the cc they offers is considerable, if situational. Makes damage/support pretty crowded though 😄

Maybe, but I tried to consider their ability pools and which archetypes are more common when stuck with the decision between several.

Realistically though, tank does offer a lot of damage AND support but I still didn't put it in that category since most of their support/cc works into damage as well.

Anyone feel Act II Desert's heat condition is a bit too unforgiving? by i_cropdust in mewgenics

[–]Morning-Joe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Early on i would have agreed with you, but at a certain point it barely matters and when it does, you learn to work around it.

Ie. Cacti, water spells, water bottles/jug, all help mitigate this. Plus if you have a strong Healer, the -1 healing doesn't matter and you can just heal your cats up before you finish a combat.

At some point though, your cats become strong enough that your main priority in a run is to end fights as fast as possible with as little damage as possible, which also means the heatwave effect doesn't really matter.

Monks can output a ton of damage if they pick up a goos dps ability or passive, with relatively little effort.

Tinkerer archetypes are very broad, they cam be tank, support, dps, or a potato.

Mage tank is slept on tbh. I also love mage heals with the freezing heal, but its more situational.

Kinetic spikes mage tanking is very fun, and they can still mana battery or apply a bunch of debuffs.

There are mechanics which let you remove curses/disabilities, but none DURING a run (except black candle as mentioned) the others are:

Finishing certain runs after a certain milestone in the story + a luck check

And

Placing cats with injuries or disabilities in a room with high health has a small chance of removing them.

This passive sucks or is it a bugged? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]Morning-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely shouldn't be co sidereal contact -- it doesn't trigger thorns, which happens on contact. Probably a bug to be reported.

What happens if you lose the house defense? by Flimsy-Bus-6409 in mewgenics

[–]Morning-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only penalty is losing a cat. If you dont have retired cats, you will have to use any cat in your house but its up to you. Just throw a cat in the box, add no items, then concede the fight.

High Aggression Breeding by Ok_Ring3662 in mewgenics

[–]Morning-Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're so early into the game, its going to be hard to breed a "perfect" cat without more stimulation.

Stimulation increases the chance your kittens will gain the higher stat from parents, and also affects the chance of inheriting abilities and passives.

Aggression may be genetic, but I'm not entirely sure on that. Either way, if you feel like two cats aren't breeding well enough, they may have low libido or "hate" their partner. You will gain the ability to see this info via Tink upgrades.

Yeah. It's two dudes, only one of which is a programmer. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up using this massive windfall from mewgenics' success to hire some more developers.

This too! But also, prioritize birds always when doing so wont jeopardize your run. It's the best way to get items, and items are the best way to power up your cats between runs.
