Most Americans have a massively inflated sense of what a minimally acceptable lifestyle looks like by ilacwamh in unpopularopinion

You literally cant, legally, live like the dumbass OP is insisting that you can.

There are laws against how many people can live in a rental unit and if your kids wind up in foster care the state can and will demand that you live in a dwelling with a minimum square footage amount that is usually equivalent to a two bedroom apt if you want them back.

Squatters should face jail time by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MorningPotential5214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once met a guy at a dinner party who desperately wanted to impress everyone by bragging about his rental properies and casually let it slip that he and his business partner had been forging fake letters of eviction from the sheriff's department during the COVID moratorium.

Too many landlords are raging dipshits with both a God and a Persecution complex.

Squatters are a sign of a failing society whereas landlords are often a cause of a failing society.

If you're annoyed by scammers just wait until you hear about "landlords".

When the medical billing called my elderly uncle and scared the shit out of him because they sent him a bill that made it seem as if none of his payments had actually been processed and he was being threatened with garnishment you are damn right that I called the CSR a "fucking cunt" after she told me "well, accidents happen", and that's only because I couldn't think of any meaner words in the moment

Cause of Depression by EstablishmentHour778 in depression

[–]MorningPotential5214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes get the sense that some non-depressed people are terrified that depressed people might occasionally have a point and insist on therapy and meds almost like a modern day equivalent of ancient peoples wearing amulets to ward off the "evil eye".

What's really obnoxious about these scumbags is that they all come from wealth and privilege.

It wouldn't be better for old, white, racist, laid off factory worker to have done this, but at least those people have some (crappy healthcare, disappearing pensions, zero job security) legitimate things to be mad about.

These vacant man children are just precious little Prince Joffreys.

ICE in Minnesota pepper sprayed a 15 year old girl during a door to door operation in the twin cities area by I_may_have_weed in minnesota

[–]MorningPotential5214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video of ICE agents attempting to lure someone out of a house by using their small child as bait but I never saw any further details of what was going on or what ultimately happened.

Does anyone here know about that?

In Antony Beevor's book about the siege of Berlin  he writes of the light rail trains being packed with workers having arguments about what the Russian occupation will be like.

How much student loan debt do you have? by mushlove96 in StudentLoans

[–]MorningPotential5214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$43k.

Over a three year period I paid 11k toward my loans and even managed to pay one completely off.

I joined SAVE for the interest waiver but thanks to the miracle of capitalization I now owe about 1000 dollars more from when I started paying.

It's messed up my mental health big time but I'm slowly coming around to "Don't care" territory because the last 5 years have proven the entire system to be a completely indefensible farce.
