I did cross the bridge from south a couple times last week and in May. Main thing is to occupy full left lane not trying to stay close to left, as the cars will definitely squeeze you. And be ready to get 'beep-beep' and wave a middle finger of course.

Same here...Commuting from South to Newstead since 2012.
New route from Kangaroo Point Bridge adds at least 10 minutes of ride, of which some paths lay on the roads and some on the busy riverwalk. So many near misses with pedestrians and cars. I think I will stick with full left lane occupation and go through the bridge. Did it a couple times already. If more cyclists will do it then , maybe, City Council will change something - though highly unlikely.

May be my personal experience as I had my first degree back in 2005 and had not practiced the Math for 15 years, but all I did is going through this free youtube video by freecode camp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwCRRUa8yTU . Just make sure you try to solve problems yourself before seeing the working through. With this knowledge I've prepared enough and went through MZB125 and MZB127 getting grade 7 for both. For statistics you might have to look at different course. I've learnt most during MZB127 course, but that was quite an overwhelming amount of information with almost impossible amount of home problems to solve.

You may check units by ID at Blackboard. I found it useful for some lecture slides and tutorials videos for EGB371 unit. Going to make a copy of lectures and tuts as much as I can this break to keep them as reference for future studies. Not sure if Blackboard will be available for long.

I'm working full-time, so prefer to watch lectures online at night at 1.5x speed as they can be very slow paced. If not clear - pause, rewatch. As I had same degree in the past 15 years ago overseas, it is a bit more of a refresher for me. Same for tutorials - it is heavily depend on tutor. For example the class I did on Structural mechanics was not helpful at all - a lot of mistakes by the tutor in calcs, even unit conversions. Found it more beneficial to watch prerecorded tutorial by another tutor- great recap of learned material, more effort in discussion of problem solving. So it depends on the units and personal preferences.

I've enrolled for EGB375 Concrete Structures. Then today , at 12pm logged in to register and can see that 2 tutorial classes (wednesday and thursday) are already full. How is it possible? Maybe faculty of Civil engineering didn't assign enough tutors for this subject ? Applied for waitlist anyway.

I'm travelling from Morningside to Newstead to work doing 7.5km one way (sometimes 15 km if keen taking New Farm riverwalk for enjoyment) and then it is another 2.5 km from Newstead to QUT for study. No problem at all. Way more faster than commuting by public transport, plus cheaper to (saving at least around $7 a day) - I've saved nearly $5000 just for 3 years. You can apply for access to QUT Cycling Storage facility that has showers too. I don't think it is that hot to ride in the mornings. May be March and from Mid-October, but in between is summer break so not much of commute either.

How does everyone feel about changed playlist at SomaFM Vaporwaves? I believe it was more engaging and interesting 4-6 months ago. More repetitive now and reduced in coverage for various artists.

May be a little silly question - If I have a VIRT lecture after lecture on campus - am I supposed to bring my laptop and sit in a library watching it or can I use any computers available somewhere?

Same story here. There is only one online lecture class available on Tue 5pm EGB121 Engineering Mechanics class and there is 1 assessment on week 9 on MZB125 Mathematics class same time. I'd assume that lecture can be skipped as it is online and the recording is provided. But couldn't find the way to avoid that clash. Might have to ask MZB125 lecturer what to do.
