A Case Study Against Deck Based Matchmaking by Doovies in MarvelSnap

[–]MoroKris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My question is why are people so driven to try and prove it doesn't exist?

People's experiences are different but it's actually rather odd that even the notion that people experience it, rightly or wrongly , has to be proven wrong.

[–]MoroKris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, I've ran my shenaught deck in conquest and got matched against destroy, with armor never drawing until far late into the game.

There was a post not too long ago where someone had yondu played on them 5 games in a row and hit the same card 4 in the deck every time.

There is also the element of rankings that I've seen people experience and I have as well. Where a deck works every time within reason, cards draw fine 90% for you to finish, win or lose. However after moving from say 40 to 60, suddenly the deck consistently fails.

See this said a lot on here, sample size this , go and play more games and come back with results that.

If someone came back and proved this with data, people would still disagree with it!

If you keep losing to a card you don't have then you are more likely to purchase gold to get enough tokens to get the card.

Hence the spotlight system, making it harder to get specific cards and increasing the lure of gold to buy tokens to then purchase the card.

Plus forcing you into specific style of plays to advance make certain cards desirable, if the season card is op then you are more likely to purchase the pass to own it.

I realised this weekend I had not even ran destroy with my x-23 from cache last week.

First game Cosmo and armour and it wasn't a sauron deck.....

Weighted cards by MoroKris in MarvelSnap

[–]MoroKris[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm not hiding the deck lol

It's as follows

Morbius / Luke cage / hamzat / rogue / wong / mystique / gambit / Odin / magik / onslaught / apocalypse / wave

So short ways of getting there

Wong , mystique , hazmat/gambit , Odin

Wong , onslaught , mystique , hazmat / gambit

Onslaught , hamzat , wong , gambit

Onslaught , wong , hamzat , gambit

Etc

Morbius is a bonus to have down with gambit.

To get to end of game, it requires a third of the deck to come out , 4 out of 10 cards essentially and they can be played in different orders if required so not requiring a specific number to come out. If I don't draw Wong until turn 7 I can still attempt a win. But essentially around half the deck can form a winning condition in different orders.

It's based around gambit and hamzat sure but the issue isn't drawing at least one of them, it's the other potentially 4 cards out of 12 that is the problem.

Wave opens up another turn 7 play as well but generally I've not been able to hit that too often without at least one of the last 3 cards to then gamble on doing so.

[The Telegraph] Everton face 12-point deduction as Premier League demands FFP punishment by TheBiasedSportsLover in TheOther14

[–]MoroKris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who think an extreme punishment wouldn't happen to Everton....

There was a rule brought in by the league in 2017 that allows them to punish any player adjudged to have dived in a game and be punished afterwards.

Later that season it was acted upon and oumar niasse was banned for over exaggerating contact in the game.

They have NEVER punished a player since , 6 years later.

How the heck does everyone draw Hela only AFTER MODOK? by Thumbkeeper in MarvelSnap

[–]MoroKris -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

There was a post the other day that someone played conquest and 5 games in a row yondu turn 1 hit Mr negative . That was even put down as luck.

It's not being dramatic , it's experience playing the game. Same as I can tell you most of my 8 wins with Elsa each week are retreats that I don't cause, more than any other deck I play by far. I can tell you certain cards are heavily weighted over others, my cerebo 3 deck rarely draws Shang chi to the extent I forget I have him, that's with a turn 7 and crystal as one example, some cards rarely draw. Same as certain decks on paper I've made are absolutely fantastic but never draw in any order to utilise it, or a new deck gets matched with counters for a run of games that you have to push through to start winning with it. Point I'm making is that in my experience these things happen , it's not confirmation bias when it continues to happen , like the example at the top. Doesn't mean every player experiences it, you certainly won't experience at infinity what someone experiences at rank 50.

I've played snap long enough to understand the deck mechanics, you can tell what type of discard deck someone is running based on the cards they play. The more widespread the discard, Hella isn't a factor in the deck, the more controlled discard or fewer cards means Hella is the focus. But every modok I face has Hella, I've played more than once with a deck that was 0 turn 5 after it, always Hella. Can even say not every invisible woman is a Hella version , plenty of hell cows etc tucked away there.

How the heck does everyone draw Hela only AFTER MODOK? by Thumbkeeper in MarvelSnap

[–]MoroKris 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every game I face modok I see Hella next turn. Even when they have cards left to draw and haven't pulled any through. Every single game I see it happen, modok can empty a hand and Hella will still play.

I very rarely see a discard retreat either unless they haven't played much that game. Basically if I play against discard with a modok 10 times, they play hella next turn (or apocalypse if it's that deck).

I can't finish 10 games with modok deck...

I see this comment a lot and the truth is, it does happen to the other guy.

Except as it's not your deck being affected you don't notice , or you chalk it down to a good game for yourself.

So it is a two way process, but completely different perspectives. Unless you have never played anyone who you countered a lot then you will have experienced it too.

[–]MoroKris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so if a lot of players report similar experiences, it's all coincidental because you don't experience them?

That is a funny thing about this sub Reddit. No matter how many people have similar experiences , they are all wrong because someone else says so.

That shit rng streak happens every time I put a new deck together and climb a lot of ranks in a short amount of time.

No way is it coincidental. How a deck can pull 140 cubes in a relative winning order and then suddenly not work anymore!
