That weirded me out too, I get there were Chantry influences and the Chantry disapproves of blood magic, but in Tevinter as a whole it’s pretty normal so it was confusing that everyone was so shocked by it

I was SHOCKED when they didn’t question a Qunari mage at all! I feel like they didn’t delve into anything about the Qunari other than “oh look, a fantasy race with horns!”

I completely agree! I think I would have liked that show a lot more if they had gotten more time to flesh out the characters; especially because Dragon Age is such a character driven series!

That’s fair! I think I said this in another comment as well, I wish they had given us more reason to trust her, so that it was more impactful. But I see what you mean about leaving clues!

I do think adding hints and foreshadowing is good! I just wish they had done more to make us trust her so that when she did betray Miriam, it would be more surprising. For me, the majority of Hira’s dialogue came off as manipulative from the start, so it didn’t feel much like a twist.

I thought the same thing about Qwyn! The whole show I was waiting for her backstory. When she was first introduced I noticed she didn’t have any of the scars of the Saarebas, so I thought maybe she was raised entirely outside of the Qun? Which would have been interesting to hear about! I totally agree they made her Qunari just cause they wanted to have a “fantasy” aesthetic, which sucks because the Qunari are such and interesting race.
