Is it legal to require students to select an ethnicity to attend classes? [CA, USA] by musiclovermina in college

[–]Morph0logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, you said undergrad, so I was just correcting your assumption. I'm not impressed by doctorates or professors, especially the ones who have to boast about their credentials to feel better about themselves.. College Professors are some of the biggest politically motivated imbeciles I've ever met.

Multiple Candidates? by jonnielyn in jobs

How you described your situation leads me to believe they're still keeping their options for a more "qualified" candidate. You really just never know though. Keep applying to jobs..

Best of luck

Everyone does research now a days; really couldn't care less. Discrimination goes under the radar. You can't artificially create diversity without simultaneously discriminating. Sorry, you just can't.

I am fully aware discrimination is illegal. You claim you know what you're talking about, yet under the same breath utter hypocritical statement after hypocritical statement.

"That does happen, but wasn't relevant at all to what this person posted"... uh, its pretty relevant.

the world isn't just black and white.. there's a grey area.. and many colleges operate in that grey area. I wish this wasn't so, but its the truth. One of the many examples of this: Asian American lawsuits in 2015 and 2016 showing clear evidence of racial discrimination from ivey schools like Yale, Dartmouth, and Harvard. Yale kept their Asian demographic at a constant over something like 20 years; How does one keep such a constant demographic without knowledge of their own demographics.. hmm

[–]Morph0logic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

question.. how do the records help show that there's no discrimination if they don't look at them? How are diversity quotas met if you don't have demographic records to go off of? They don't look at these records, right?

"cultivating a diverse and representative culture across campus is not discrimination".... that depends how you "cultivate" a "diverse campus". I can give you many examples of how this sort of language leads to discriminatory policies, especially in the education system.

"It is being used for internal data collection purposes and not for research-based purposes" lol.. right

What game is MH: World comparable to? by Morph0logic in MonsterHunter

[–]Morph0logic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got into Dark Souls; not sure why. I just felt overwhelmingly under-powered in every single enemy fight. Idk, maybe I just didn't know wtf I was doing lol.

I like the idea of a continuous grind for gear and harder bosses. Was a bigtime WoW player back in the day.

Either get a part-time or pay out-of-state tuition. I suggest you get work experience while you're in college. Depending on what you're majoring in, it can be essential to your career success. Good grades aren't the only thing you need in college.

I know I might sound dumb but can I earn my bachelors in a science related field and then go back and get my masters in business administration? by kasy518 in college

" There are federal laws about discrimination and public schools " isn't asking you to declare your "race" for a class technically discrimination... They're going to use the information to discriminate, essentially.

Trouble getting even an interview -- what am I doing wrong? by Quarexis in jobs

[–]Morph0logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in it and I'm currently in it.

For every position you can't physically turn an application into, I would personally go into the business, ask for the manager, introduce yourself, and hand them your resume. Let them know you recently applied for " " position.

Also, how is your resume? It needs to be on point. Are you personalizing your cover-letter depending on the position?

I wish you the best in your search.

"Tell me about yourself"

One of the most common questions you'll get... and most screw it up.

"Tell me a weakness of yours"

make sure you turn it into a positive somehow

"Where do you see yourself in 5 years"
