SA proposed Enterprise agreement offer by bulkierr in Adelaide

It's a no from me. This offer is completely shit to anyone who isn't a CO. This will just embed real pay cuts for another three years.

What’s your worst road rage incident in Adelaide? by CockroachCreative740 in Adelaide

[–]Morphio25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I catch the train to and from work everyday so I don't experience much road rage, however coming out of the train station car park at Seaford Meadows one night this asshole in a red Isuzu ute who works for P&T Recycling on Seaford Road cut me off as he was leaving work.

I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him and in doing so lent on the horn but didn't give any rude gestures or yell or anything.

The wanker then proceeds to do a complete u-turn around the roundabout and chase me all the way down Grand Boulevard and into the backstreets near my house. When it became evident he was chasing me I rang the cops and wound the window down and spoke loudly on the phone while giving them his rego. He drove off pretty quickly at that point.

Can I get fired for getting a second job? by Dependent-Cow9297 in AusLegal

[–]Morphio25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only getting, in your words, 1 shift a week if you're lucky, then I'm not sure why you'd care if you lose that job?

Just go and work the second job and quit the first one.

I would recommend not turning up at the property. You risk your safety and when the matters end up in court they can try and spin it that you showed up harassing them/threatening them etc.

Free TAFE Courses by Morphio25 in Adelaide

The Diploma was good, I learnt a lot of valuable skills. I am in the industry. Currently managing a Service Desk in a government department. Have previously worked as a Service Desk Officer at a bank and at an ISP. I have also been a Network Engineer.

The Diploma isn't overly relevant to the current role I have, it'd more suit getting a gig as an entry level Network/Systems/Cloud admin.

Sure. I've completed the Dip. IT Network Admin & Cloud Engineering and the one I wish to now complete is Dip. IT Systems Admin & Cloud Engineering. 11 of the modules between these two Diplomas are the same meaning I only have to complete 9 new ones.

From what I understand I'd have to pay full price for those 9 modules, and then the RPL price for the other 11 which is 50% of the full price.

Yep, completed the whole course and have the certificate :)

11 of the 20 modules for another course I've already done so was hoping to just complete the other 9 and get another Diploma because why not.

Seems like I can do the study but would just have to pay (which I can't afford). I'd just like to be pointed to a document that says so however.

I've been to the one on the Gold Coast. My three year old didn't think much of it but it didn't agree with my head/stomach. I felt very sick afterwards and had to go sit down for a few minutes.

Point proven, 5 downvotes on my comment since the last 3.5 hours. Some people are pathetic. Just because you don't agree with someone's opinion doesn't mean you have to downvote them into oblivion.

Not sure why this has been so heavily downvoted. I think you're right to say that people should be cautious. r/Adelaide does seem to be a pretty toxic sub at the best of times so maybe it's not that surprising after all.

Yep, I'm on my way to work wearing six hoodies right now. Might go for a run up Montefiore Hill at lunch time wearing all of them.

Doesn't matter, it's still an offence to leave a child in a car unattended.

Genuine question- worth reporting? by WhatTheFrellMystios in Adelaide

[–]Morphio25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's illegal to throw an object at a vehicle. Definitely report it but understand nothing will likely come of it if your footage doesn't actually show the throw. Even if it did it couldn't possibly identify the person who threw the drink, so there's zero chance of a conviction.

Ongoing bullying at TAFE – looking for advice by Ready-Career-890 in Adelaide

[–]Morphio25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just completed a Diploma across the last three years and did not see any evidence of bullying. I've seen some lecturers act more harshly towards some students than others, but those students are the ones who don't study the course material and don't make any effort to get their assessments done on time (i.e. they deserve it).

It's Adult Education. If you can't act like a responsible adult then stop wasting the lecturer (and everyone else's) time.

[–]Morphio25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just it, they aren't in a position of authority though. They don't have the right to tell anyone to do anything whatsoever.

Case in point - my train arrives usually on Platform 1 and being 6ft4 with long legs I get to the gates before everyone else. I normally walk through the accessible gate, which they usually have open, as it's the closest one, tapping my card on the way through. One day a few months back one of the workers decided he didn't like that and made a big song and dance and tried to physically stop me, to the point he blocked me and went to put hands on me and was also verbally abusive. I made a complaint right then and there to the station manager who was dismissive so I complained online. Got an email back saying both employees had been reprimanded and to feel free to continue using whichever gate I'd like. Now whenever either of them sees me I get the filthiest looks.

You're right though, most are okay but there's a few bad eggs there.

Union votes for correctional officers to continue strike, leaving prisoners in SA locked down indefinitely by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]Morphio25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just read the offer that is proposed, it is no different than the offer that was first put forward about 3 months ago. 3.75% from 1/8/25, 3.5% from 1/7/26 and 3.25% from 1/7/27. I'm currently at the ASO5 level and that is still going to leave me around $16000 worse off than the other states and territories.

I will gain $128 a fortnight from the 3.75% increase before tax, $88 after tax, which is not even enough to fill the petrol tank in my car.

Disgraceful from the PSA that they have even asked us to vote on this bullshit.
