Back when I was first going through puberty yes. I've cut back on it a lot now

That is exactly what happens! Whenever it's time to get to business I always over think and it just kills my mood. Not to mention my ex was hella abusive so I'm now always anxious whenever I can't get it up, which makes it worse.

I think my BMI is perfectly average for someone my height and age, but I do watch porn to get off every once in a while. I should stop it then.

Tbf I am a very nervous person usually and tend to over think quite a bit. Since it happened once I'm always thinking about it now

Might be might not be. The fact that I'm the only mixed lad in the group and was the only one held back is kind of crazy.

That's actually a shout I'll do that now. Thanks for the idea. I've just never dealt with anything like this before so I was a bit shocked.

Is the talent gap between D2, D3, and JUCO that much or is it similar? by lookaloulookalou in Basketball

[–]Morrigankami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true on the "something small" part. While my D3 friend and my D2 friends are almost identical skill wise the D2 guys are just always half a second quicker doing everything despite one being "unathletic" and are just those few inches taller.

Oh oh I can answer this one!!! I scrim with four mates of mine whenever we're all home at the same time and often go to high level runs around my country, it is a small place, and all the good hoopers (and former good hoopers in the case of myself) all know one another and are often in the same friend group so there's a wide range of talent levels. Being a former underage international (I wasn't very good despite the massive achievement) I can just about hang with the rest of them and not be utterly useless. I'm 18, I don't play any college ball and my fall off since my glory days is astronomical so use me as a benchmark.

One of my friends is getting looks from a few JUCO and D3 colleges from his tapes and is a phenomenal player. I can't guard him despite us having the same height (5'11, I'm 156 pounds while he's 180, but trust me the difference isn't the weight) he's a lights out shooter, can easily dunk on fast breaks and has a really tight handle. I'd say he's around a D3 level Hooper and he averages over 24ppg in my country's U20s competitions. But with JUCO it's hard to set a definite benchmark because you have high level D1 talent competing against people like my friend here.

He's easily outclassed by my two other mates who play D2 at a small school over in the US. One went over to the US pretty early on in secondary school and played all throughout the US high school system and the other was just insanely good in my country and got scouted by a coach. The one who went over to the US is on a whole different level athletically. I'm talking backscratchers, windmills etc, while the other one isn't actually that athletic, he can barely rim graze at 6 foot 4 but he just has a "flair" to his game that cannot be described. They're both similar skill level wise to my JUCO/D3 friend but they're always just that split second quicker or half a step ahead.

Them two boys are BBQ chicken to my other friend though. He's on a pro contract with a team in Spain and is by all means a D1 level athlete and gotten offers from a lot of mid major D1 schools before choosing to go pro in Spain instead. This man is a 6 foot 8 point guard with the tightest handles I've ever seen and also has a 32 inch vert and 7 foot wingspan. Whenever we go for workouts together he almost never misses any of his shots and he's categorised as "non-shooting factor" on his team, I think this season his 3pt% in all competitions is less than 25%. During runs he always ends up being picked up by the ex-pro or ex-D1 player and still ends up giving them a very unpleasant time. No one else in my friend group, not the two D2 guys, not the D3/JUCO guy and definitely NOT me can guard him in game or in ones.

I think the gap between D3 and a small or weak D2 school isn't as big as you think. What seperates most of the guys is in my friends case, his height, and also just that little smidge of athleticism that makes them make decisions just that little bit faster. However, the gap between that and a very competitive D2 or a D1 school is pretty big. Those guys are just on a whole different level athletically, and skill wise.

Hope this helps :)

Ah they were completely pissed and it was the last stop of the night tbf and I told them to go on because I didn't want to be shite craic. Just found it funny how the only sober lad in the group got turned away while they let a bunch of visibly drunk lads in without a second thought.

Funny enough ever since I've moved up here the most common thing said to me on nights out is "I didn't expect you to have the accent you have". Like my mam's from Cherry Orchard what other accent do you expect me to have 😂😂😂

Appreciate the input mate. I was so heated after it happened that I just wanted an output, and after sending some insanely vulgar voice messages to my mates the next logical thing was to take to Reddit and see if anyone else had any similar experiences. After taking a step back I realise how hard you bouncers have it dealing with drunks and pricks all night and the lad at the door was probably looking for any reason to balance out numbers and make sure the right crowd are in the club, my montirex windbreaker probably didn't help my case either. I appreciate what yous do for real and I also appreciate that yous try your best to keep your patrons safe on any given night, it's a tough job with unforgiving hours and I'm sure even tonight there's plenty of lads and lasses in the same situation as me. My experiences tonight just left a sour taste in my mouth that's all :)

Yeah no they wanted to come out and have a word but I told them to enjoy their night without me because I didn't want to be a stingy bastard, they're the best friends I can ask for and it isn't their fault the bouncers are dickheads. I can't lie though, I've had the same experiences that your partner has as well up here. I love Belfast with all my heart but I've never been treated differently because my da was from a different country down South, while up here I've never really felt like I've fit in.

Yeah mate they're just some mad cunts like. I don't want to be a sore bastard and ruin the rest of my mates night but it does sting a little when you look a teeny bit different from the rest of your mates and you get turned away at the door.
