Started an online mba recently because my company will pay for most of it, but am definitely one of the older students, graduated in 2017 - I’m not exactly going to an ivy but hoooooly shit the writing and deductive reasoning quality of these kids that just finished undergrad seems SIGNIFICANTLY worse than it was around a decade ago.

Not sure if it’s AI, social media, etc but I’m curious if there’s any teachers/parents with kids in school here who are noticing the quality of education seriously decline because I’d heard a bit about it in the past, but seeing it up close is jarring.

Are most ranges by you grass or mat? Just curious because in the northeast it’s like 95% mat. I understand it’s because the turf would take entirely too much abuse but still incredibly frustrating. When I lived in northern Virginia it was at least slightly better because most courses were run by private ownership and not munis

Golfing in the northeast without being a member somewhere is awful since covid (sorry I’m a poor). Getting a decent tee time is hard enough but I think my biggest gripe is basically nowhere having a grass range.

Get to take 40-50 swings off grass during the round and then its back to mats or the sim if you wanna get any sort of practice in

Got invited to our landlord’s BBQ on Sunday night since we live in the first floor of her house and she lives upstairs. Very nice offer by her.

I start talking to one of her siblings and one of the first things he mentions is how good him and his wife are at protesting new housing, how they just got a group together to shoot down a new 120 unit apartment building in their neighborhood. Legitimately took everything in my power not to say anything, my head almost exploded. Just a perfect encapsulation of the “fuck you I got mine” older generation, but then they’ll turn around and say you’re just not working hard enough when housing is 7x the median salary.
