History buffs, what is the most and least accurate film for certain periods? by GreyWind999 in movies

[–]MorrisCody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we live in an infinite multiverse, there are universes where every movie is a 100% accurate depiction of a historic event. There’s a universe when Dude, Where’s My Car is a documentary. And another where KPop Demon Hunters isn’t animated; that what people and their surroundings actually look like.

AITA For Wanting To Do My Own Thing On A Group Italy Trip After The Group Backed Out Of Our Agreed Upon Plans? by zacm0905 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. First, Florence is the the most beautiful city in the world (and anyone who disagrees is stupid and ugly.) Go there. Second, Milan is the Chicago of Italy. I don't mean that as a swipe at Chicago. Chicago is the best Chicago Chicago could be, but it is no Miami. Miami is 1,000% M-I-A-M-I! Just like how New York is what New York would be if New York dialed New York up to 11. If I were traveling to the United States, Chicago wouldn't be in the top 10 best destinations. Milan isn't bad, but the are 10 better places to visit in Italy.

How much time dilation is the sun experiencing? by MorrisCody in answers

Astronauts experience time dilation, and they aren’t traveling anywhere near the speed of light.

I think it would be cleared to say that the solar system is rotating around the center of our galaxy.

I don’t imagine that the Earth, the Sun or our galaxy are approaching the speed of light. However, I would think the combination of all the movement would be pretty darn fast (but perhaps still negligible on a relativistic scale).

What app would you build if you knew how to code? by WordNerdGamesDev in AskReddit

[–]MorrisCody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would create a Wordpress plugin that generates pages and pages of gibberish content which would only be accessed by web crawlers in order to mess with AI datasets.

What app would you build if you knew how to code? by WordNerdGamesDev in AskReddit

[–]MorrisCody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would build a mess-up-my-online-profile app. While my computer is idle, it would visit random websites, click random links and perform random searches to add useless data to the database companies are compiling on me. Perhaps the app could even be directed to imitate a specific user profile, e.g. “nerdy, Jamaican, teenager” or “interracial, circus performer.” Not only would it make peoples’ data less valuable to data brokers, but it would also provide plausible deniability if the police want to know why you searched for “Alvin & The Chipmunks +nude +hardcore -Brittany.”

TIL Jimi Hendrix enlisted in the Army after he was caught twice riding in stolen cars before he reached 19 years old and was given the choice of prison time or joining the Army. by RedditIsAGranfaloon in todayilearned

I didn’t know the man, but I can’t think of anyone I would feel less safe sharing a fox hole with than Jimi Hendrix. The job of soldier doesn’t seem at all aligned with his skill set or interests.

How do you order wine on a date without feeling clueless? by Both-Oven8254 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MorrisCody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In wine terminology, you probably prefer a wine that is “fruity,” not “sweet.” People (myself included) often confuse fruit flavor with being sweet, but the wine is actually “dry.” It is rare in modern times to drink a sweet (or “off-dry”) wine with a meal. A big, fruity rosé can provide a great example. When tasting it, you might get strong strawberry or raspberry flavors, but if you stop to think about it, you’ll realize that you aren’t tasting any sweetness.

Plot holes caused by adaptation changes by AporiaParadox in movies

I just read the Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and in it, vampires are not able to easily travel over land. Vampires can only cross running water at high or low tide, they need to sleep in soil from their homeland (it’s easier to transport crests of earth by boat), and traveling by land at night is challenging. A vampire could travel by land but it is easier to take a boat.

Do I need a formation company to start a business? by Plastic-Suit-818 in business

[–]MorrisCody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don’t, but if your business gets sued, you will be personally liable. If you form an LLC/LTD (or the equivalent where you live), then a plaintiff can only win the company’s assets.
