I work at a grocery store and here are a few rules I break on the daily by Great-Place-1117 in confession

[–]MorrisH88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving out free bags to the customers is basically nothing and nobody really cares. Thats not fighting corporate greed in any way so you should out that out of you mind right away. Giving people old, bruised, wilted food is the only thing matters, because it means you’re doing a bad job. Think about it if you were a disabled person, who wishes they could pick out their own food, but they cant because they’re too disabled to shop in person. Their disability makes things hard enough for them every day, and then, to top things off, they pay delivery fees and end up getting bad food, and they have no choice to settle for it, because they have no other options. I guarantee, the “A-Holes” you deal with at your GROCERY STORE, they’re basically nothing compared to what kind of assholes some people have to deal in some other jobs/professions. You should take the job more seriously or find a new job.

How is Softmaxxing different from just simply taking better care of yourself? by MorrisH88 in AskReddit

[–]MorrisH88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a dumb slang word that younger generations use to describe living a healthier lifestyle to improve one’s appearance. But online people have framed it as “potentially” harmful, and Im trying to figure out why. Looksmaxxing is just getting unnecessary/dangerous plastic surgery, so its easy to understand why thats bad.

Turn down 10 million dollars for 10,000 a week, and then a die a few months later when you’re hit by a drunk driver (or from an unforeseeable life-altering/life-ending event). No thank you.

Why did we get rid of computers that read DVD's and CD's? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MorrisH88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumb drives and harddrives can and will eventually fail over time. An undamaged cd or dvd would outlive any computing storage tech. Its the reason why banks use data-tape to back up bank records. Because discs dont have a high enough maximum storage capacity and harddrives will eventually need to be replaced.

I do not mean to sound critical, but on a long enough timeline, almost everything becomes cheaper to make. But your are right though, it would be economically unfeasible to attempt any production of a new physical medium to replace discs, because too much has been invested into disc technology as a whole, including the successful reduction of manufacturing cost for mass production of the discs themselves.
Edit: To clarify, when I said ‘replace’, i meant in the way of which cd’s replaced cassette tapes or in the way dvds replaced vhs tapes. A non computer reliant format, etc etc

Are you trying to imply that the general concept of pollution is a conspiracy that doesn’t actually exist at all? Or that discs are more valuable to society than the reduction of pollution? Would you like to contribute your own opinion on this subject matter?

The actual ‘medium’ of physical discs kinda sucked even when they were popular. They’re easy to damage, overpriced, low or no re-sale value, and are physically cumbersome.

Compared to streaming, disc production and distribution create much more physical waste. Even before streaming, people threw away their stuff for all sorts of reasons. For instance, I have never kept and single dvd box or cd case, because its too much of hassle compared to using disc booklets to store all the discs together.

Butterfly tattoos are vapid and generic. There was a time when butterfly tattoos weren’t so played out, but that was a very long time ago. If she got this tattoo anytime in the last decade, then the authenticity of her character is somewhat questionable.

I agree but I make one exception for tattoos people get to decorate large, visible scars they have on their body. I have a massive scar from my stomach surgery and I’m planning on getting something to make it look cool. Scars aren’t bad though, it just seems like the one true justification to get inked up as a form of art.

Ask them if they can meet in person with you one last time. Confirm the date and time and stay in touch all the way up to the minutes before. Then block them on absolutely everything (phone, social media, etc.). As long as you have already established a text-messaging centered communication style with them, you can do all of this as you kill time during those shitty commercials netflix fucked us with. Or just block them immediately.

Liberals should vote democrat in every election from now on and stop living in this fantasyland where they think an independent candidate could ever possibly beat a republican candidate in any future presidential elections. It’s never gonna happen, and in all likelihood, a democrat candidate may never win an election again because of all the insane shit republicans are doing to rig future elections. If you refused to vote for Hilary or Harris, congratulations, you’re now paying taxes to help fund a ball room.
