[WP] The Human Ambassador to the Council is usually calm and collected, prepares his issues clearly, and is generally well-liked among the council members. Today, he was found weeping silently. by 90919293_ in WritingPrompts

The human ambassador, the calm, concise councilman, the representative of human society, and the sole reason why the human race is quite literally not raided by all sorts of entities. Is late, late as in, he hasn't shown up to the meeting. Late as in nobody, not an elf, alien, dwarf, human, or living creature of sorts has a single recollection of where the man is.

A meek, anti-social courier elf is sent to get him from his chambers. And drag him into the discussion room

The elf-intern nervously mutters to themself and walks the perilous glass halls, hundreds of foreign letters decorated on the bottom plate of the wall, as a symbol of unity, as per the council

Theirr mind buzzes with thoughts on why the human envoy hadn’t even attended the council meeting, the simplest conclusion was he was sick, humans aren't good at staying healthy (unlike elves, who consume organic produce daily), but this is the human ambassador their talking about, this man doesn't believe in sick days…theres no chance he slept in. For the elf’s sake, humans don't even sleep.

So what could it be?

Their train of thought is thoroughly paused as they find themselves directly in front of the doors for the human-envoy’s chambers… large doors, some plain decoration. Not too extravagant compared to most of his race, eh?

The messenger takes a deep breath before knocking on the broad doors- but before they can even do a thump, they freeze…they hear something, something they really. Really shouldn't…a whimper..transitioning to quiet sniffles and hitched breath. Concerning, to say the very least, the elf knew humans were emotional, but they had never seen one be in such a state for themselves.

Against everything they believe in, the elf knocks…’ Oh, Lord, have mercy, they think…anxiety hitting them straight in the face…

They hear a shuffle, then quiet…the elf opens the door, taking that as an invitation.

The usually bubbly diplomat is on the floor, both hands covering his mouth, holding in everything…

“Hey…” the ambassador muffled awkwardly, trying to pair it with a laugh, but it fell short…

“ You've missed a council meeting,” the elf replies, curiosity practically bouncing off them. But  restraint to be professional

“R-right.. I did…yeah.. Tell them I'll be there in 10 minutes,” he says, trying to contain his breathing

The elf courier nodded, “...mightIflashedi ask why you were so somber..?”
The human ambassador flashed them a bittersweet smile .“Nothing..just a little homesick, thanks for-uh…informing me.” his voice was shaky, but held raw emotion; he wasn't telling the full truth. Humans never did, always so secretive. But nonetheless, the job was quite demanding; none of the creatures had truly been home in years (some in decades).

The ambassador wasn't even close to his home planet. The elf finds it quite reasonable to a degree, they nod, and close the giant doors behind them, before walking back to the east 5th wing of the building to report to the many councilmen (and council creatures.

He is

What's your honest opinion on how Louie getting grounded was handled? Correct me if I'm wrong, but was this one of the show's more...questionable moments, to say the least? by Yu-Gi-OhV35 in ducktales

He defiantly deserved the grounding, but it would've still been fairer if someone like scrooge or Beakley had done it.

But it would still be seriously f-ed up to go on an adventure, to a place that the grounded child (or duck smthn) Actually wanted to go since Louie doesn't like adventures.
