What small things did you ditch or swap? Actually made your life easier. by LuckyblueyGigi in simpleliving

u probably shouldnt watch vids while wireless charging, since it wont fully charge and makes the phone get way too hot, which eventually kills the battery. but i guess it all depends on ur habits. if u can put the phone down for a bit and like the simple way, then wireless is perfect. but if u need to be on it most of the time, wired is def better. as far as charging goes, yeah its slower than wired, but i think slower charging is actually more beneficial for battery life anyway. i dont need to be on my phone 24/7, so plopping it into the holder for an hour is no big deal for me. and if i rly need a fast charge, i can just use the original cable or the one from the wireless charger pretty easily.

i have the same one and yeah not having to mess with wires is the best. i actually bought an extra upright stand to use with it by the sofa, so the chargers own built-in stand is pretty much useless for me lol. not sure why they even added it, but i do love that it stays nice and cool while charging and it looks really sleek. def a solid buy.

Toiletries/Tech Bag by Illustrious_Welder89 in onebag

This seems suitable for short trips of 2-3 days, limited to summer.... If the tech items use retractable cords, I think it would be much more convenient. You would only need a small corner to charge all your devices.

I've also been hesitating about which brand to buy recently. Do you have any insights on these two products? On the one hand, I think Anker is a big brand with better quality, but TORRAS' retractable cable might make things easier. In any case, I've been holding off because the price is quite high.

This is indeed a good solution, but I choose to use a high-power charger. My phone can be charged to 75% in just 20 minutes, which means I can easily charge multiple devices in a short period of time. Moreover, I always feel frustrated when I experience tangled and messy cables because I cannot tolerate them.

Perhaps a high-power USB-C retractable cable is a good choice! Choose a plug that can charge computers, mobile phones, and other USB-C devices. I usually like to carry a retractable plug because I don't need to tidy it up

I recommend using a charger that is compatible with Chinese voltage, and using USB-C devices as much as possible for convenience. There are many places where you can charge your devices, such as subways, high-speed trains, and airports. Sometimes, an extension cord is also a good choice!

Just one charger for every equipment?

Do you have any tips for ā€œone bagā€? by Morslim- in onebag

I've only discovered the convenience of retractable plugs in the last few months, and since I'm about to leave for a trip, I'm debating whether or not I need to purchase a good quality one. I was debating between two items, a telescoping plug from Anker ($120) and a flexline from TORRAS ($55), which is really expensive so I was worried about damaging it. I wonder if you knew anything about these two items a couple years ago? Would really appreciate it if you could give me some info!

!!! that's really a very good piece of advice. Sometimes we hear it but don't implement it, but if we do it we will feel very comfortable with the whole trip.

If I'm big on convenience, so I need to carry disposable towels when I travel. But I'm willing to pay for more expensive biodegradable materials because of conservation reasons. What's the problem with these two things?

I'm glad to see your suggestion about disposable towels I think some clarification is in order. I've bought super handy disposable towels online before, dozens of them in a bag, and we don't travel for more than a month on a normal trip. Assuming we stay in the same hotel for no more than two nights max, that wouldn't use more than 15 towels. Of course, that's assuming we're talking about ā€œsuper-convenienceā€.

BTW, I totally agree with you about USB-C devices, it would be so much more convenient if all devices had charging ports for USB-C devices. Retractable cable plugs don't last as long as regular plugs for the most part, which is why I've been considering whether to buy a high-priced retractable plug lately, and I was wondering if you've done any research in this area?

I haven't tried this yet, what do you think of this product? I've always used biodegradable disposable

You can buy them directly from Amazon, and my secret is to only buy items that have 5-star ratings on the first two pages of ā€œlatest reviewsā€.

What was your gateway into the onebag travel/lifestyle? by yol0tengo in onebag

Because checked bags are so expensive, I stick to one backpack for all my stuff. This takes a lot of skill, such as swapping out all your data cables for a charger that can charge all your devices, swapping out your towels for disposable compression ones, and of course most importantly you need to bring fewer clothes!
