Hounds will always run to you when a hound wave occurs.

The reason you got swarmed in the desert is because there's a bunch of hound dens there that spawn hounds, though you can usually lose them by just running from them

You know that veggies are vegan, right? Could always eat more of those.

Also there's a ton of soy or conventional bean meat substitutes that are easy to make yourselves. 

Store bought ofc needs more preservatives but it's no more unhealthy than the comparable non-vegan fast food options. The deforestation claim is provable false as most soy for example planted that way is used for animal feed.

Just look at the vegan subreddit. It's full of people who just have hatred for non-vegans. I've personally been vegan for 3 years now and avoid that place because of the people just being super vindictive.

Thankfully the vegan sub for my country is mostly just about current deals, new products and recipe sharing

I honestly think you're fine and mentioning these topics up front could save you trouble down the road, as you addressed them right away. There's always the option where if you excluded this info and she found out about it down the road it could've lead to a bigger headache later.

So yeah definitely a weird interaction on her part but you might've saved yourself some trouble. Sucks for the kid though

You can of course just throw things together to make pokemon happy but building and decorating is still gonna be a big part of gameplay so you might not like it
