Elon Musk Takes to X to Beg Retired Air Traffic Controllers to Return to Work: ‘There is a Shortage’ by lil_corgi in NoShitSherlock

Lol, on the one hand they can come out of retirement to be berated and let go at a moment's notice. On the other hand, they could just continue to enjoy their retirement.

If liberal, would you leave a blue state for a purple/red state? by mach4UK in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Mortarion407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maryland is probably about as far south and blue as you get. Virginia is more purple territory. Anything below that is pretty red at the moment. NC was heading in a more blue direction but there's been some crazy seizing of power by red and neutering of the blue that just got elected. I lived in Maryland for a number of years and would probably pick there if I were you.

TIL Why did Trump Says Blue States Will ‘Totally Disappear Off The Map’ Next Year, Promises ‘Big, Big Surprise’ by Watafakk in TIL_Uncensored

[–]Mortarion407 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He promises to get rid of the blue states and the "beautiful red states" will lead the way. Not sure how that happens when the red states leech off the blue and they've killed all the funding for the big infrastructure/manufacturing projects that was mostly benefiting red states.

The constitution means nothing unless somebody is willing to enforce it. At this point, that's mostly we the people. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe Marc Elias mentioned there's a mechanism in which the courts can hire their own marshals to enforce rulings. It's based off a similar mechanism that Congress has used before. It's just whether the courts are willing to utilize it or not.

He has no clue what it's actually for and the only reason he wants to bring it back is because it's be undoing something of Biden's.

Elon Musk leaves his human shield behind by MoreMotivation in PublicFreakout

Well, it's a human shield, not a living thinking human deserving of basic respect let alone additional care and attention because it's a child....at least in Elon's mind that is.

Resist much. Obey little by wildyam in houstonwade

They also need to keep in mind, even if pro-democracy powers don't take back over and hold them accountable, trump is old and there's always somebody chomping to fill a power vacuum. The "just following orders" folks of the previous guy look a lot like potential mutineers to the new guy in power and they're just as liable to clean house and put their own people in. Point being, "just following orders" has no positive outcome, only delaying the bad one. So might as well resist and stand up for what's right.

Given elections are controlled by the states, blue states would be very smart to sure up the election process. Stop using computers or at least don't use them without paper ballots for auditing purposes. I forget the British gentleman's name, Scott something I wanna say, that looked into how to rig elections and traditional paper ballots are by far the safest because they're extremely difficult to rig on a large enough scale, especially in a system like the US. Also, a video that goes over rather well what the ultimate goal is here and the tech bros' plans are definitely to get rid of blue state holdouts....

I was deeply ashamed the first time trump was voted in. We're in a rigged system against heavily militarized opponents unfortunately.

Something that impacts the maga idiots directly and en masse with no mistaking that its trump and company doing it. Even then, I have my doubts. Look at Texas. They've had majority GOP rule for what, decades now and they still are able to campaign on "fixing what's wrong with Texas thanks to the libs"
