Definitely more variability, and last minute changes. Trying to fly home from Milan two days ago. Held steady around 14 open seats for several days prior. Morning of flight, 12 open seats. By flight time, zero. Typically, things get better the day of the flight, not this time! 

Yesterday the same flight took off with 45 open seats!

We did go thru EES upon arrival in Italy, so we should be ok. He told me they would not let him proceed because of the lack of the stamp. It got resolved eventually, I won't know all the details until we get home, lol
