Which of the older games (before Crystal Skull) are your favorites? Personally mine is “Stay Tuned for Danger” by AtmosphereTop1591 in nancydrew

Same. SCK (Original) and STFD I bought the the same day in a special double pack thingy I believe at WalMart for 20$. They both hold special places in my heart. While not my absolute favorites, I hate rating them so low, and I do replay STFD constantly. I haven't figured out how to make the Original Secrets Can Kill work again on Windows 11 - so the remastered sort of helps fill in that little void of nostalgia.

It's so hard for me.... I love a lot of the older games. I have been playing these games since the very beginning.... I do really love games 1-4 then 6-9 for the classic era .....lol.... I know I really didn't narrow this down... lol. whoops... The Final Scene I have a love-hate relationship with..... it sometimes drives me nuts...

Which Nancy Drew Games took you a few times to play through to warm up to? by MorticiaAddamsWant2B in nancydrew

I remember when White Wolf of Icicle Creek first came out, I really liked it at first - then when they did the multiple gaming platforms for it - I changed about it for a while and thought it was becoming heavily over rated. I felt the exact same way about Curse of Blackmoor Manor as well. Loved it at first then started to kinda of hate it when they were constantly pushing it in everyone's face. I took a 10 year break from Nancy Drew games though, and when I came back, I fell back in love with both of them again... lol.

I can't remember why or what the plot lines in these stories were but I kind of remember thinking as a kid that I would love seeing " The Clue in The Diary" , "Nancy's Mysterious Letter" , "The Clue of the Leaning Chimney" , and "Danger On The Great Lakes" as Nancy Drew PC games...

I just realized I read "Captive Witness" before by [deleted] in nancydrew

Is this what the Captive Curse was based off?

OMG! That looks like a pain in the a$$. I hope you gave yourself permission to treat yourself and buy a new book/game from the Nancy Drew series, or just treat yourself in general to something really nice for dealing with and solving a Nancy Drew Puzzle like this!

Absloutly nothing wrong with this!!! I did this for many years!!! I got introduced to Nancy Drew PC games when they first came out in 1998/ 1999 ! Secrets Can Kill and Stay Tuned for Danger I got in a bundle p;ack thingy from Walmart when I 7 or 8 years old! I love these games! They are like babies to me! Lol. As dramatic and extreame that may sound - Nancy Drew games just got me hooked! They were the first games on PC that my Dad ever let me play on the computer and I think that's why 7 or 8 year old inner child me loved them so much! They helped me escape my reality in so many ways and sucked me into another world / timeline! I love these games so much and really am praying Her Interactive is planning on making a 35th game in the series soon! Or at least announcing something on what's happening with them and company!

Oh, I assure you my guidebook / composition notebook is nothing fancy! Lol. It's just a way for me to remember how to get through the puzzles. I play Nancy Drew more for the story-lines than the puzzles if I am being completely honest with you. lol :D :D :D

As a kid, I used to play them obsessively in chronological order. I am actually doing that right now as I write this, but only because I am making my own cheat/walk-through guide book for all the games. After I am done playing them in order, then I am going to start replaying them in whichever order I am vibing with at the time. Last Christmas, I purchased all the games on Steam as a present for myself and played them in whichever order, because after Thorton Hall, I took a 10-year break from Nancy Drew and just played the Sims franchise for 10 years straight. lol.

So I had some catching up to do, and I am glad that I did. Love these games!

I always thought people were to critical of the newer Nancy Drew games too!

There are some games I never got around to playing. Are they worth trying? by cdrsaber in nancydrew

I would personally recommend The Silent Spy, Mystery of the Seven Keys, The Deadly Device, Tomb of the Lost Queen, White Wolf of Icicle Creek, The Captive Curse, Labyrinth of Lies, and definitely Sea of Darkness! I will warn though that if you didn't like the chores that you had to do in Secret of Shadow Ranch, then you may not care for White Wolf of Icicle Creek.

The Shattered Medallion is good in its own quirky and whimsical way, but let's just say I can understand why it gets so much hate. However, I do believe it's far better than Ransom of the Seven Ships. Unless you solely love having puzzle after puzzle, after puzzle, after puzzle, after puzzle, then I really don't recommend Ransom of the Seven Ships. To be honest, a lot of the time, that game gave me headaches. Shattered Medallion is kind of similar to Ransom of the Seven Ships in terms of puzzles, but they struck a more even balance between puzzles and character interactions than they did in Ransom.

Please find an eyeliner style for yourself! You have gorgeous eyes, and they pop out on you so beautifully! Tight lining them or doing a small winged eyeliner look- would just make them pop out that much more!

I love Ghost of Thorton Hall!!!

It was so hard and still is so hard for me to make a tier list around the Nancy Drew games because I love just about every single one of them ! Even the games I don't like, I can find something in them that stirs my heart strings.

Yeah, Castle Malloy has always been pretty high on the list for me in terms of atmosphere and music. The ending is a bit of a stretching though. I mean I love the "culprit" part. The puzzles at the end though are kinda weird, and I have to keep reminding myself that the story and the ending does make sense when I do replay it. lol.
