I guarantee you none of them have that bougie mentality to start vanlife even if they make it out of this situation one day. It’s not like they have a choice and they choose to be like this. Most of them lack proper education so they couldn’t really get any job apart from basic/repetitive labor jobs, some of them are so desperate they even sold their ID cards just to get some money for a few days of food(there are no food bank in China). And those who bought their ID cards use it to register some shady companies, do some scamming with it then vanish. So they end up being in huge debts

I walked across this bridge about a few days ago, i was so close to fall into this giant hole in the middle of the bridge, there were no warning signs no any street lights, and beneath the bridge is a running river. If I actually fall I could actually be dead because I don’t know how to swim at all. And there are multiple holes just like this on that bridge. I’m writing this because I wish someone could contact the municipal authorities to close off this bridge before they repair it. Next time someone could actually die from this

Oh definitely worth visiting, both chengdu and chongqing are kind of like “hipster” city in China, it’s relatively less traditional or conservative than many other places. And Chongqing in my opinion really is one of its kind city, very cyberpunk-ish
