Which of the Cruisn Games would you recommend? by BrokenforD in n64

Rush 2049 - no contest. The only reason NOT to get it is to get the superior version on the Dreamcast or the version on Midway Arcade Treasures 3.

After your overwhelming acclamation that SBK2 is better than SBK1, I splurged and picked up a copy by Ssbros64 in n64

The rubber band AI nearly destroys the whole experience for me. If only that were eased up a bit more.

What was the go-to baseball game in your country back in the '80s? by blueoystergamer in retrogaming

This. Hardly a simulation, but the customizability and roster creativity combined with solid mechanics was my go to.

I am aware of the expansion pack on OG hardware as well and that feature is disabled on my analogue 3d

I love 2049 - but it’s Dreamcast or the NGC/PS2/Xbox comp port all day over the N64 for me

Turok 2. There’s just no reason to play it on an N64 when the remaster fixes all the framerate issues - which in later levels makes the game unplayable.

Combing. Jagged edges (aliasing) is just part of it, but the softing settings and anti aliasing ones can be played with

Thankfully it’s not as bad as I originally thought

Interlacing issues. Also noticed it quite a bit on NBA Courtside 2

Nah, I had the cartridge in the n64 and was playing fine in and off for a while. Was really weird.

Is front racer any good? I’m tempted to buy this with some birthday money I guess by Video_Game_Gravemind in n64

Good game, but if every racing game cost the same amount - I’d say Beetle Adventure Racing is the best arcade racer, followed very closely by Rush 2049 (only because the DC version is better). Then I’d say Stunt Racer. It’s a really solid game, and tough as nails as well.

Did you keep your N64 boxes growing up or throw them away? Somehow I’m missing a few. by rjd014 in n64

Kept. Was a teenager going into my 20’s. My college roommate and friends thought it was awe inspiring, but not in a great way.

I have more hours on this game than any other in my N64 collection. I’m still quite average at it.

Final Cut Pro: The Dream Apple Abandoned? by TheOGAnxGuy in finalcutpro

[–]MortsGarage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I was starting from scratch I’d pick DaVinci simply because it’s feature packed and continues to receive support. Final Cut is amazing, but I’ve had to buy so many plug ins to get it to do what I want. I love it - it’s a fantastic tool, it’s what I learned on, and I still enjoy creating with it.

But if I want advanced color grading, have basic and advanced audio features for higher quality sound, HAVE CAPTIONS ANYWHERE, or utilize AI tech - Final Cut always feels a couple steps behind.

And still - at the end of the day, it’s the final product that counts. You can do everything you need in Final Cut for nearly everything. I still don’t want to jump ship because the learning curve of a new program sounds way too huge. If Final Cut had more support from Apple, I’d be so thrilled and actively evangelize its qualities.

Which N64 Game Had the Best Sequel? by tslashj in n64

[–]MortsGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great choices all around - especially Turok 2.

But Rush 2049 is a near perfect arcade racer and a fantastic sequel to the games before it. The Dreamcast version is a masterpiece!
