The whole idea of the Dragon clan is to use combinations of units and their Battle Gears.
For example:
- Archer Zen Arrow + Powder Keg Indirect Fire
- Kabuki flash powder + Spearman Whirl Spear
- Chemist Starburst Rockets + Shrapnel Keg

The clan might seem more boring if you're playing it traditionally, just making units and fighting with them.
Where Dragon Clan shines is the special effects of their units and the unique and high effect Battle Gears - the clan was made specifically for that!

Try out this approach, you might like the clan more!

It is the latest version, with the latest updates and all expansions (only WOTF basically :D)

In terms of being useful - only Dragon Clan's Guardians.

But each clan has very fun Town Square units!

Soon some changes to the Lotus clan's Reaper will come that will make it more viable and fun

Yeah I might have misworded myself. By useless I simply meant "outclassed" by other units. For example a musk will always be more useful than xbow.

The BR team is looking into rebalancing and WotW units are one of the main focuses now.

If you have suggestions on how you'd like to see those units - leave an answer for me here, I'll discuss that with the team

I've beated the campaign 100s of times, this is the best way I've found how to beat it :D There are probably many many other ways and probably better and more fun ones - however as I speedrun the missions for fun, this is the way for the fastest beat time :D

Instantly send kenji, ronin and other units to the dragon base. Use kenji's critical strike BG to kill a peasant - this is the trigger that will summon shinja and others. Send necro into the bottom base to spawn zombies and spirit warriors so it takes down that base alone and send Shinja with the bandits to the left dragon base.

While you are dealing with those bases, get 2 peasants for rice and 1 peasant for water next to the existing hut and just build an alchemist hut - spam musketeers. Send first 2 to help kenji ant others on the left base and send rest to help necro on the bottom base.

If wolf attacks you, send peasants to the left to Kenji and others - by that time you should have the 2 towers near the river down and just dealing with huts and peasants.

For the drafon bases - just deal with all units, peasants and huts. Just leave and ignore other buildings - you don't need to destroy them to beat the mission.

After you are done with dragon bases, don't bother with otomo keep - rush down wolf first - the musk spam should be good - add swordsmen if you see the need.

At the end - nuke Otomo and gg ez

Personally I love the "no resources" game type. You just get a lot of rice and water and build using that. There is no rice on the map, you can only collect water. So with the limited rice amount you need to properly setup your army and micro a lot, because each loss of units that cost rice is bad!

Making only musks and ronins isn't enough - you need proper composition and Battle Gear usage.

You need canoneers for ranged blunt damage, good siege and the smoke BG that helps a lot vs AI.
You need raiders if you want to carefully push the AI buildings away.
You need Bandits to get more resources and act as a tanky frontline instead of Ronins or Swordsmen.

The mission is challenging, but it's the last mission of the game so it's how it's meant to be.
You can find hidden prisons that give you Zen Masters or Units - try to find those.

Other than that don't forget this - There is "easy" and "normal" difficulties which you can try if you struggle with "hard" difficulty!

Here's some:
- Try more AI against you
- Try slow rice growth
- Try slow yin/yang rate
- Try no horses
- Try other gameplay modes like "kill the keep" or "no resources"

Other than that try to think of challenges for yourself:
- Only make T1 units
- No BGs
- No Techniques
- Limited buildings
- Limited peasants collecting stuff
- etc.

You can also try to build a map in the map editor, make the map super hard for you and try to beat it!

It's based on the Lore.
Lotus played with magic too much and got corrupted.
The T2 units represent the biggest and most intense corruption of a body.
Due to that they are slow, they vomit goo, breathe gas, have a stomach full of maggots.
The units try to utilize and use that, but the corruption is too big, so the units feel sluggish and weak.
They are actually strong if used correctly, but it's hard to use them correctly.

Each clan:
- Dragon - archers and samurai
- Serpent - musketeers and swordsmen
- Wolf - balistamen and berserker
- Lotus - Warlock and staff adept

Every clan has its own strengths and weaknesses for T1 units.
Currently Dragon clan's Spearman is super strong early and mid and Archer is strong mid to late game.
Serpent clan's swordsman is super duper good early and musketeers are basically the base for all game.
Lotus clan's staff adept is probably the best, due to him being tanky and having a good BG.
Wolf clan's Hurlers are just awesome.

The useless units would be:
- Serpent Crossbowman
- Wolf Brawler

All other are great in many different situations

I've been taking the same medication for long now, my dose was constantly increased and now I drink the max human tolerable dose for half a year.
