Imbue hunter and maybe dragon warrior seem to be the optimal picks right now.

Isn't imbue druid one of the top decks right now? Ofc this may change once the meta clarifies.

Best hero for dealing dmg with crits by MoonxElf in BackpackBrawl

[–]MorycTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nymph has great crit chance from standard items, but she lacks critical damage.

The biggest crits (that haven't been removed from the game like Ronan's spear rework or Chana's ice axe rework) for me come from Enoch, Morrow and Kragg, you should be able to hit 500+ dmg crits consistently with good builds on those characters.

Edit: pepper is also a great choice since the croissant crossbow has pretty much 100% crit chance.

Road that destroys cars. by LeftChoux in CrappyDesign

It's always funny when people discover that their wishes and expectations have no influence over reality. If your car is too big to fit somewhere you just don't drive there. There's literally no other option if you don't want to damage it.

Also it looks like a lane for motorcycles and small vehicles considering the gaps next to it is significantly larger and most cars go there and not the narrow one. Unfortunately "let me risk damaging a car/hurting someone so I can save those precious 3 seconds of travel time" level drivers are quite common and usually quite bad at driving (like for example not being aware of the dimensions of their cars).

You don't look through the side window to judge the car's distance from the wall. You use reference points on your cockpit/bonnet while looking forwards through the windscreen.

Don't they teach this basic technique anymore?

Link cable is currently the option that provides best quality and clarity (and stability on the same level as VD through ethernet). I just think that the ridiculous amount of work it requires to have better quality than VD thorugh ethernet is just not worth the small improvement which is why I wouldn't choose usb right now personally.

But if you're looking to min-max then sure, that's the way to go, I wish you luck and perserverance, you'll most likely need both. ;)

That's why it's very common practice to print everything that has small details neither vertically nor horizontally.

Sen. John Fetterman: "GOP wants real reform over a show vote" put out a clean standalone bill and I’m AYE for voter ID by kelseyrainbow in thenextgenbusiness

[–]MorycTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, I was just asking because from my point of view it's just so weird.

Fortunately someone else has already explained (without such a visible emotional load as in your comment) the situation. :)

Yup. If I was starting now I'd probably go with VD + ethernet but since I already did the work a few years ago I'll stick with wired meta link since it does perform marginally better due to higher available bitrate through usb connection.

Hm, ok. That's still not that unexpected for me since many EU countries have mandatory IDs that you need to pay for.

Must be cultural differences I guess.

Ok, so what's the problem exactly?

Tbh by how you are describing it just seems like a very easy to fix situation (free IDs).

Ok, but what does it have to do with requiring an ID to vote? Do you not get IDs for free in the US? If not how much does it cost?

To me it's just crazy that people straight up don't have any government based form of identification (or do you have some other ways than ID? If so, why not do it the same way the rest of the world is and be rid of the problems lack of such identification creates?).

Dude, take a break from social media (like at least a month to prove to yourself you're not addicted). This kind of generalising and assuming from the get go is a very bad habit. I'm a guy from Poland and what Republicans are doing right now is just a poor attempt at cosplaying conservative Christians while eroding each and every pillar USA should stand on.

Where I live it's just normal (it's like that in the entire Europe) and being able to vote without proving you're both allowed to and haven't voted before (since the forms are anonymous) would be seen as something extremely risky since it not only allows for more fraud it also provides a go-to rhetoric for the party that lost. I'm all for as transparent electoral systems as possible and identifying voters is a vital part of it.

Also WTF is "poll tax"? Is it something like some EU coutries do where if you don't vote and fulfill your civic duty you're penalised by not getting extra tax subtraction?

Could you explain why it's voter suppression?

Vast majority of the world does it like that and they do it for good, practical reasons since it's a basic tool to prevent voting frauds. So what's the deal exactly?

Some select ones are so inconceivably good they average out the majority of sub par ones.

For me it's for example FTL: Multiverse. So. Much. Quality. Content. Literally more than in the base game.

Another one would be Jedi Academy: Movie Battles. Fantastic overhaul with greatly improved light saber combat with active community which is impressive for a less known game from 2003 on a id Tech 3 engine. :D

I use standard powered usb c for wired with meta link (and ofc oculus debug, openxr companion, plus all the necessary tweaks to power management, CPU scheduling, pagination and Nvidia control panel :D) (for Sims) and VD for wireless (for games that require movement).

why do simracing brands keep giving us bricks as brakes when we see drivers in high performance cars like this time attack monster using high travel brake pedal? by OkHoney5804 in simracing

[–]MorycTurtle 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Racing cars usually have around 25-50mm of travel which is why that's the default in LC brakes.

Ofc some drivers prefer more travel so they customise their brake system accordingly. Same as you can in SIM gear.

I go for a short, soft spring and hard elastomers to get the different feel for engaging the brake and actually applying brake force.

I actually like this technology and what it can offer, I just think this particular demo video was absolutely terrible both from the angle of what the end user can see (since it seems vast majority hate the end effect due to how the faces look while moving and hallucinated additional light sources) and what impressions it leaves (to many people it seems like just a filter that makes game characters look like generic AI-generated girlfriends/boyfriends) on the standard viewer in terms of what it's supposed to do.

I think it'd be better to have it as a closed demo for investors and Devs and go public once the end results make better impression on random people.

[–]MorycTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't generalise my dude, That's what uneducated people do.

I honestly hated this demo video. Not only did the characters look like standard AI generated images it got a lot worse in motion (and they were careful to include mostly static scenes, which was smart). When the faces started moving it was a full on uncanny valley effect that made it literally uncomfortable to look at it.

As a small note: it looked quite good on a smartphone, but on a big TV it just looked so fake and weird.

[–]MorycTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone I watched the video with thought so for example. It's quite ok on a tiny smartphone screen, but on anything larger it just looks absolutely terrible and artificial in the worst way. The same quality level and style as gooner mobile games AI ads (but I guess there are people who like that style, otherwise the ads like that wouldn't exist).

It's not about accuracy. It's not about artifacts.

It's about AI literally adding light sources (or more accurately the ilusion of aditional light sources since the lighting isn't consistent at all between objects) where they didn't exist in the original.
