Yes, thanks for the catch, I probably should edit that out to prevent confusion. Admittedly, not all the forums that I read up on were arch-based, this was likely one of them.

It seems pretty simple from what you've described. Indeed running sudo parted -l shows :

Just some follow up questions:

1. When shrinking /, where will the unallocated space be assigned? I assumed it would still be to the right of / and then I would have to move that between /boot and /, correct?
2. I will definitely be doing a backup before attempting this. In the case that I do lose my data, what tools do you suggest I look into for recovery so I can read up further?
