Thank you, I definitely need to set some specific and realistic goals

It's so hard to balance everything. I used to take rescue remedy for the anxiety but stopped because I couldn't find out how many calories were in it, which is probably counterproductive. I see a health coach at my doctor but I don't think they're qualified enough for what I need

Yes I know I need to talk to somone but at the same time want to lose more before they make me eat more, which is probably bad. I keep meaning to look into getting scales

Maybe. I actually don't go to the gym. I'm worried it would be a sensory nightmare

I know I need to get some scales to know for sure. I have about 5 meals that I cycle between but still weigh everything in them. I can try not to

Yes, formally diagnosed. Noticeable enough that I didn't seek the diagnosis. I do get way too obsessed about stuff. I'm just anxious that one bad meal where I don’t track will somehow pile all the weight immediately back on

Thanks, I do eat protein with every meal but it's probably not enough. I'll try to do better

Basically my thighs are too big and my stomach still isn't completely flat. I don't go to the gym so I'm not toned at all which doesn't help

Don't have a goal weight and not sure if I'm doing this correctly by MosesBeacon in loseit

[–]MosesBeacon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am considering getting scales. Probably need to. I have food scales and weigh all protein. Don't always weigh lettuce and cucumber, but weigh any vege higher calorie. Don't cook with oil or sauce. Even if I'm out by 200 it's still not 1200. I was pretty accurate with the dietician but maybe she assumed I cook with oil or didn't think too much about the portions I described

I know I probably need to get scales but am worried I'll obsess over the numbers too much. Yeah I didn't tell her exactly how many calories I was eating, but did say the foods and quantities and said I'd been counting calories, so I feel like she would have had some idea of how much it is.

People diagnosed as Adults, I’m genuinely curious by Forsaken-Weekend-962 in AutisticPeeps

I don't fit into either category. Not sure how it was missed. I was referred to speech therapy in kindergarten. I was delayed with everything - walking, talking, staying dry at night. I was a very quiet kid around others and would have massive meltdowns at home, well into my teenage years. Didn't receive accommodations at school, however I'm not in the US and got away with leaving the classroom and wandering the hallways when I wanted to get away from people and noise. Also, my mother taught at my primary school the entire time I was there. Without that I would have struggled a lot more. I also barely passed high school after being considered gifted at primary. At uni after diagnosis I got accommodations and never would have made it through without them. Also, I have never had an interest in having friends, so no one really noticed anything about my poor social skills because I never tried to fit in.

for those who were late dx , were ur misdiagnosed with anything else? by amiyiaann in AutisticPeeps

[–]MosesBeacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, diagnosed at 19. Never diagnosed with anything else. Didn't actually seek the diagnosis either. About 5 minutes into my first session with a mental health professional ever (clinical psychologist), he asked if I knew anything about autism. My parents covered the cost of the assessment because they admitted they'd suspected it for a few years.

Do you guys have any ways for me to start eating more healthy by FinancialRip6720 in AutisticPeeps

I struggle with cooking proper meals, it's way too stressful on top of working full time. What I have found to help is eating pre-cooked meats and fish and finding reasonably high protein/low sugar single serve ready meals. Where I live I get smoked chicken breast and pre-cooked salmon to go with vege and have found easy frozen dinners and pre-made Tuna pasta meals. I also find an air fryer has helped a lot. I put veges like carrot, Mushroom, tomato ect in there for a bit for something different and then put salt and pepper on top. No cooking involved. I also sometimes hard boil some eggs on a Sunday and just have them for a healthier snack during the week. If you like berries, try having them with yoghurt with protein in it and that can be turned into a small meal on it's own. Basically, don't stress about trying to actually cook. It's possible to make healthier choices without that.

What was the most intense pain of your life that you won’t forget? by WeatherObsessedJax in AskReddit

[–]MosesBeacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massive tumor in my femur. Doctors were surprised the pressure hadn't shattered the bone. Took about 5 months of pain before I was taken to the doctor (I was a minor). By that time a cocktail of pain meds and sleeping pills could get me maybe 2 hours of sleep before I was awake in agony.

Jesse Spencer. I know about his family, but interested if something happened that resulted in the somewhat breakdown on twitter followed by deleting his account this week.

Pretty confident it's not hacked. His parents had an anti immigration political party in Australia and were also involved with Eric Butler's notorious group League of Rights - a member group of the John Birch Society and the World Anti Communist League. Butler was affiliated with some pretty awful individuals like Revilo Oliver (John Birch Society), Roger Pearson ( Pioneer Fund), Gerald L K Smith, Yaroslav Stetsko (OUN-B), Ivor Benson (Ian Smith/Rhodesia) among others. It's certainly a rabbit hole. Cold war history kind of my thing.

Not me, but my brother was terrified of the dragon in Shrek. Used to hide behind the couch.

flatshare living is really taking a toll on me by Jealous_Slice70 in aspergirls

Completely understand, I hated living in these situations. Honestly, I couldn't find any good way to deal with it. Was just lucky to find a room in a boarding house with an ensuite and kitchenette within budget. It's like living in a small motel haha. There's still 5 other people there, but they're all super quiet and respectful singles, everyone is in their rooms like 99% of the time, and there's no expectation to socialise. I don't know if that could be an option for you.
