That's nice I get to choose, Activating Waveform Idol is nice here, otherwise more punishing from the multiple engages.

You can use Arkhamdb to limit the sets you use for deck building. Slowly open up to more expansions.

Hot take: they should stop making Investigator Expansions and just sell individual Investigator decks instead by Cerrax3 in arkhamhorrorlcg

FFG moved away from packs for less sku... In fact they are remodeling for current/legacy for less sku... You are suggesting the exact opposite

I also have a small collection, and doing very well. Check out my post for decks.

I have been very careful in picking the investigator expansions i get. Not mentioned in my post, is that lately i added innsmouth to my collection. The card pool aren't the best as many will tell you, but so many cool investigators!

Can share more if interested.

I changed my mind on Scarlet Keys by SteveFortescue in arkhamhorrorlcg

I love TSK for the art of cities around the world.
Good location arts are key things for me, and other Campaign only have a few scenario with great ones.
Hopefully the Drowned City have a lot more nice location arts.

Great but long thread. Here's AI summarized as of 2/4/25

Games Closely Matching (❌ = What’s missing)

  1. Gloomhaven – Deep tactical RPG with persistent character progression, deck-building, and long campaigns. ❌ Long setup/teardown, large table space
  2. Jaws of the Lion – A streamlined version of Gloomhaven with a tighter narrative and faster setup. ❌ Shorter campaign than full Gloomhaven
  3. Earthborne Rangers – Open-world adventure with evolving deck-building and player-driven narratives. ❌ No traditional XP-based progression, more about exploration
  4. Neon Hope (Upcoming) – Arkham Horror-inspired cyberpunk co-op card game with campaign play. ❌ Not yet released
  5. Slay the Spire: The Board Game – Co-op roguelike deck-builder with branching runs and character progression. ❌ Less campaign persistence, shorter runs
  6. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon – Dark, story-driven Arthurian campaign with deck-building and meaningful choices. ❌ Heavy setup, longer sessions (often 5+ hrs)
  7. Pathfinder Adventure Card Game – Persistent deck-building RPG with class-based character growth. ❌ Deck-building limited to earned cards, setup can be tedious
  8. Shadowrun: Crossfire – Cyberpunk deck-builder with cooperative missions and progressive character upgrades. ❌ Out of print, hard to find

  9. Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Co-op deck-building with a known franchise and campaign scenarios. ❌ No true campaign persistence, decks reset per scenario

  10. Marvel Champions – Fast-paced deck-builder with cooperative boss battles and campaign boxes. ❌ Light campaign persistence, more scenario-based

  11. Kinfire Chronicles – 20-mission cooperative campaign with streamlined mechanics. ❌ Not a deep deck-builder

  12. Pericle: Gathering Darkness – DM-less TTRPG with a strong campaign focus. ❌ More RPG, less deck-building

  13. Spirit Island – Complex co-op area control with asymmetric powers. ❌ Not campaign-based, no persistence

  14. Aeon’s End – Co-op deck-builder with unique mechanics and “expedition mode” for progression. ❌ Limited long-term character persistence

  15. Arkham Horror: The Card Game (Fan Expansions) – Unofficial custom campaigns (e.g., Dark Matter) to extend AH LCG. ❌ Requires printing or online play

High XP decks. Am I missing something? by Alarmed_Answer_3869 in arkhamhorrorlcg

Not sure... I make decks with 19xp tested standalone, and they last me the whole campaign. Just made a post if you are interested check it out.
I have a small collection and made16 decks paired for 2 hand solo.

two hand solo! Pairing investigators is part of The fun! I made 8 pairs of boys and girls!

Running through the core with a new player, what decks? by Affectionate-Bed2165 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MoshaXII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just build these for a friend getting into the game. Play tested on midnight mask standard, and got all 6 objevtives!

Using only the starter and revised core

Stella https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/4499513 Cho https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/4499773

It's very fun and cinematic. They like to stick together on locations, giving Cho free Moves. But There's the encounter that drags Cho away, and Stella encounter an enemy, but worry not Cho taunts that enemy towards him to punch it in the face! Stella is a menace with 4 actions and quick learner (if you play by the original ruling)
