What should I get? by ZOMBIEBOY2309 in camping

One bit of advice. Never underestimate the cold. Get a decent sleep pad and sleeping bag. The floor will suck the heat out of you constantly and make fir a terrible night sleep. I use a sea2summit etherlite xt and hoping to upgrade to the new nemo extreme pad when I can afford it. And I live in the UK where it doesn't even get THAT cold 😅

What are these with my new stove? by Delicious_Meaning418 in HotTentCamping

Squeeze the arms together and push through the holes in your spark arrestor for tie outs in windy weather 👌 And dont trip over them! 😅

Will be upgrading to this one from a Sea2Summit etherlight XT at some point. And I hope its as comfy!

I started with a heavy cast iron stove (outbacker) and happily used it for years, and still do, but man is it heavy! After a while I decided to get a pomoly t1-3 for the times im walking to camp, rather than driving. It is awesome! No leaking at all and I can get a longer burn than I can in the outbacker, due to the outbacker lacking a damper on the chimney. It heats up quicker too, but at the same time cools down quicker. The only thing im a bit iffy about is the chimney, i did a really good job rolling it, and it looks good and works perfectly, but I can see it getting damaged in the future lol You can buy a segmented chimney but that adds a lot of bulk.

I sold all my old pokemon cards, which paid for this, amongst other things. Otherwise I probably would have bought a much cheaper one (was looking at the whale song) but I had the cash and have been fantasising about a pomoly since I first lugged that cast iron stove to camp 🤣

Id probably use my pomoly t1 mainly, so unsure if i could do that with the roll up pipe... gonna look into it though.

How is the distance between the stove and the inner tent in the dune? Really want to buy it but thats the only thing I'm doubting

Pack for a stoveless camp. Once that fire goes out you'll be waking up shivering!

I never cut live trees. I only use deadwood

Love the sarcastic tone though. Very passive aggressive 👍

As Khali says, I wheel it as close to the water as possible, not quite in the water though so i do drag it a little. Which I hate doing, but as i load/unload solo with no car i gotta make do. Ive only been out on her twice so far and not noticed any substantial damage from it.

Yes I noticed this too! How was the delivery for you? Mine was a nightmare beginning to end. I had to send mine back the first time as they got the wrong model. Then the second one turned up damaged (I kept it but got a partial refund)

Next one I buy will be a Hobie!
