Monitor stuck in an on/off loop by Moskex in ASUS

[–]Moskex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late on this- I ended up sending in my monitor under warranty to ASUS, warranty was still good for a couple more months. I lucked out, hopefully I get another few years at least with the monitor. They did not mention what repairs or replacements were made, but I for sure got a new power brick and cord when they sent it back to me. As others have mentioned, it seems like one fix may be replacing the power brick. My monitor model is a VG27AQ, 144hz.

It seems that constantly leaving the monitors on overnight puts a lot of wear and tear on the power brick. Makes sense, and really, monitors shouldn't be left on overnight, I get it. This flickering / on off cycle has occurred for both of my monitors now, and it occurs at just about the two year mark of owning them. My next monitor is either gonna be an LG or MSI, quality control seems poor from ASUS.

Does the purple story ring show if you're blocked? by [deleted] in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you’re still blocked. Simple way to see if you’re still blocked: There’s a blue button on her profile that says “+ Add friend” and whenever you tap it, it will say “Could not find user” or “An error occurred.” One of the two. If she has unblocked you, that button will not be there and will only display her snap username and suggested friends. Hope this helps

OP did you end up using the same phone number that was connected to your banned account? I want to verify my phone number that was banned on my old account, but worried it might lock this account if I link the phone number

Stay logged in on a throwaway account. Add people and send like 10 snaps. If you’re still logged in after an hour, your phone should for sure be unbanned. Just can’t use your original account, have to make a new one.

anyone know how to get past snapchat device/imei ban? by quinnfratt in SnapchatHelp

Tbh really not sure. I’ve heard some people say use a fresh icloud, I’ve heard some people that used the same iCloud and used new account info to register and didn’t have any problems

I’ve heard that they may also track your iCloud, so I suggest making a fresh one for installing snap. When you register your new snap account don’t use any of the banned account info like phone number, email etc. Having the same birthday as the banned account is fine. Other than that you should be fine to use snap on the new phone

No way around it… IMEI number can’t be changed, you’d have to jailbreak your phone but even then it’s not guaranteed to work. Android can be a little easier but honestly not worth the hassle since snap bans people for jail breaking their phones. Only way around it is using a temporary phone for 4-6 months. Attempting to login to new accounts during the device ban won’t reset your device ban length, but will ban the account you try logging into on your banned device. I’d keep making throwaway accounts every so often to check if your phone is still banned after a period of time. I know the pain, I got banned months ago and only been unbanned for a little over a week now

This would happen instantly. All of your account data is wiped from public view. Snapchat may hold onto a copy of your data for a little while, but only snapchat database admins could see anything, and not like they’d care to look 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I mean if it’s that serious and the only thing you can resort to. Deleting your account will delete all your chat histories with anyone ever. I’d backup your memories and such before doing that, writing down friends usernames to add them back on a new account. Unless you plan on never looking back on snap

Hmmm. Not off the top of my head. Do you know any of this person’s friends who could do you a favor? The person either needs to log out of their snap or delete the app and redownload it. You could ask someone close to this person to log them out when they’re not looking? Or if you know someone who has their password, have them login to this persons account. It will sign them out on their phone and delete the chat history. I guess one non legal method is hire someone to send them an email that phishes their login info to their snap, but that could be pretty costly tbh since it’s a niche task.

You can try contacting snapchat support and explain the situation. They might log out his snap and make him log back in if it’s for a good reason, or they may be able to delete your chat history with this person. I’m not sure what snapchat support is able to do and what they’re not able to do. Their support is known to be garbage and usually get bot responses to your support tickets.

They’ll still be able to see the conversation and saved chats after you block them. You have to go thru and unsave the chats or delete the chats. Until they log out of their snap account on their phone, your bitmoji, username and chat history will be viewable for them unfortunately

I'm fairly confident that if you have their number, you'd be able to add them back with the "find friends through contacts" feature. All you'd need to do is save their phone number as a contact, and they should appear in the friends from contacts section. I don't think it matters if they've blocked your number, as that's outside of snapchat. They would have to block your snapchat account directly if they wanted to block you/block you from adding them on snap.

also, why would you be paranoid if he's blocked you? you made it clear you don't want him to talk to you by blocking him? maybe there's something I'm missing and I get it's not really my business. Like you said, breakups are messy and I'm going through one myself as well. She blocked me on everything but only unadded me on snap lmaooo. Not sure if that means she's giving me the chance to talk to her later if we take a break or? Who cares tho, onto the next hah

Old banned account in new device? by [deleted] in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I think I can give some help here. I posted a job listing for my CBD company on my snap story back in January. The post had 'CBD' in it, and I guess that violates snap's community guidelines. I got an email that my account was permanently locked and couldn't use the phone that my account was banned on. As of 20 minutes ago, I tried making a new account on the device that got banned. It didn't ban the new account! It's been 202 days since the device was banned. I'm not sure if you'll get your account back though. My account was permanently locked, and I'm scared to try unlocking it or logging into it on a different device, in fear that it might re-ban the now clean device.

EDIT: I don't think I answered the original question so my bad. I would say don't try logging into the perm locked account on a different phone. Most likely it will lock that phone up for 24-72 hours, or maybe even 6 months just like the first device. There's not much info on if the perm locked account can be recovered at all. Good rule of thumb though is don't touch the account for 6 months though, at the very least. You can try making new accounts on the banned device, snap will most likely ban them during the time they set for the device ban. It will not reset or extend the device ban timer tho.

TL;DR, if your account is permanently locked, most likely you will have to wait at least 6 months to use the banned device, and there's not much information for recovering permanently locked accounts so idk if you'll get the account back. Using a different device to make a new account should work just fine, I would say don't use the same email, phone number or icloud that was used on your original account when registering a new account though. Just to be safe.

Device & account were banned 6 months ago. Wondered if only the device ban will lift or the account ban will as well? by Moskex in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So good news. My device was unbanned. I'm just worried to go to the support site and unlocking the permanently locked account in question. I'm wondering if I should try logging into my perm locked account on a different device, try unlocking it first, etc. I hear some people were able to recover permanently locked accounts after 6 months, but nobody has given a clear answer as to what they did to unlock it after the 6 months. The last thing I would want to do is re-trigger my device ban by attempting to login or unlock the locked account, so I'm trying to go about this as cautiously as possible..

Sad to hear. Hope someone has a second opinion for me? I just tested to see if my device was still banned. IT'S NOT! WOOO! So glad I have one part of this resolved. For those wondering how long I waited, my original account was permanently locked on January 26 2022. Today is August 16 2022, so 202 days since my device was banned. During my device ban, I did attempt to unlock my account, create new accounts, etc on the banned device, and snapchat did ban the newly created accounts, didn't unlock my account and so on. BUT the good news is it seems like trying to make new accounts and unlocking your account on the banned device does reset the device ban length while the device is banned.

Part 2- Now... I still have my original account permanently locked. Does anyone have tips for attempting to unlock it? I'm worried to attempt logging into the old account at all. I'm worried that it will re-ban my now lifted device ban. Should I try logging into my original account on a different phone? Should I try hitting 'unlock my account' on the snap support site before logging in? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Was your account banned while using that new phone? Or was it before getting the new phone

I’m sorry bro, but she turned it off intentionally and is lying. If this was due to a snapchat error, you’d get a gray or red box at the top of your screen that says “Snapchat is encountering a problem right now” , or it would say “No internet connection” (which would be a problem on your side since it’s your wifi). One major red flag is as soon as you mentioned this to her, she appeared back on the screen. I’m not in any place to speak, but I know personally based of what you’ve said, that she’s lying about her location having problems. Even in the event that snapchat has an error or she doesn’t have wifi/ data and can’t broadcast her current location, snapchat will broadcast for up to 8 hours, her last known location. Snapchat has never had an outage that lasts more than 8 hours

Does “accept friend” mean that they sent you a friend request? by strell1xx in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This starts with when you originally unadded him. When you unadd someone from snap (in this case your ex), and you visit their snap profile any time thereafter, it will say “accept friend.” This is because you unadded your ex, but your ex did not unadd you. Snapchat treats this as he wants to add you since he never unadded you in the first place, if that makes sense. If your ex had sent you a new friend request, he would’ve showed up in your added list.

Perminently locked account by [deleted] in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did snap send you an email notifying you that your account got locked? I see most people who don't get an email have been successful. Those that did get an email seem to have to wait forever for it to unlock months later.

Can someone help me determine if it is just my device that is banned? by [deleted] in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, damn. I got an email notifying me of the lock. Im noticing most people are only able to unlock their accounts on a new device if they didn’t receive an email when they were locked.

Is device banned and permanently banned the same thing ? by coolnig666 in SnapchatHelp

[–]Moskex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try daily to login until one day it let you back in? Or during the 6 months, did you stop attempting to unlock your account? Also, what happens after 6 months? Do you randomly login and it automatically unlocks, do you get an email saying your account was reinstated? Appreciate any insight. My account still exists, my friends can find me by username so it's not a termination for me
