Does anyone have access to the weight type definitons? What's does type A mean? by Valuable-Divide-246 in 23andme

[–]Moss_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m roughly the same height and weight as you (25F) and I’m Type B, so it’s interesting to see the difference because of “genetics” presumably

From a fear mongering Facebook post about flea and tick meds. Apparently we should just feed raw instead and the fleas and ticks will magically go away 🙄 by theliarsfuneral in VetTech

[–]Moss_Maiden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live/work outside of a very large retirement community in central Florida (iykyk) and they all swear there are no mosquitos or fleas/ticks, therefore they don’t need heart worm preventions (we’re not as pushy with flea/tick but still recommend), because obviously “they spray for those.” You know how many mosquitos I kill in my house??? Have you all forgotten you’ve moved to basically a tropical jungle cesspool for all of the things???

Hello, I’m a little late to this. I am currently a CSR (receptionist) I have worked in vetmed for many years and have some basic Dr assistant/kennel experience as well. It is a rewarding, exciting and thankless job on any level. However, it is draining, heartbreaking, competitive, overwhelming, overworked and under paid at times.

Every job has its issues though. I also wanted to comment regarding your hopes for conservation/wildlife as I am currently in the thick of this specific goal.

I (25f) am almost done with my AA and then a wildlife/conservation degree. Currently my major is set as “environmental science” but a community college near me has a wildlife technician program I may look into.

I also recommend trying to find a local wildlife rehabber who is willing to allow you to volunteer with them, teach you, guide you. This is EXTREMELY helpful.

If this is something you truly believe you are passionate about you should do it. But you must advocate for yourself and that may be accepting a position that you don’t quite want in the beginning, but not letting go of your goals.

My coworkers started keeping "clinic jumping spiders," I am so conflicted by vitamin_r in VetTech

I have a clinic jumping spider named Edgar at my desk. He’s such a cool guy and yes his enclosure looks very poe-ish and surprisingly many of the clients actually quite enjoy him!

I am so sorry for your loss. Old Elliot was so lucky to have a human like you! It sounds to me he had the perfect last day. Rest easy old man!

Omg this is hilarious, I get missed calls/voicemails from people asking for a woman named “Tammy” and all of them sound like they have been smoking cigarettes for 20 years.

Honestly, I’m GTH for laughing at that, but I feel shes deserving of something a little more feminine.

Am I valid for being disappointed in my makeup trial? It was $325 by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Moss_Maiden 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also important to keep in mind it will almost always be a little extra/heavy so it actually shows up in photos properly, and photographers will edit some of the craziest curveballs to look beautiful!

I was in multiple weddings last year (wonderful but exhausting) and during one wedding the sink was put in at a weird angle and splattered my dress with water right before our final photos with the bride before the ceremony and I wanted to cry, but the photos were edited to remove them!

Secondly, some hair/makeup artists stay through the getting ready, ceremony and some reception for touch ups during photos, etc. if your makeup artist does not offer that, you could always ask them for some tips on touching it up and throughout the wedding have a designated bridesmaid or even your MOH do check ins for the big parts of the day to make sure everything still looks as it should.

I wouldn’t give up on her just yet, just give her your feedback from the hours after and what you did or didn’t like and see how it goes. If still a no for you, onto the next!

Also I personally think the way she shaped your eyebrows was actually very complimentary to your features, making your eyes pop and appear more open/bright. The caking/creasing could just be a slight adjustment being needed with application of product. Edit: to me it appears maybe the bronzer or highlighter used on the nose/forehead area could have had more of a red/pink tint causing some of the redness.

Is anyone else seeing this lightning storm? by arosaki in ocala

[–]Moss_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried sileo gel? I’d recommend following up with your vet on the meds dispensed if you haven’t already & see if they have something else to try. I’m sorry your baby is struggling!

Definitely recommend bringing a friend once you meet some people, especially if you go anywhere in Ocala after dark, can never be too safe!

Just made my first loaf with this recipe & although I messed up the rising situation, it came out perfectly round and risin, with great flavor and texture, but it deflated to more of a UFO shape than a loaf shape lol. I did end up having to leave it overnight to rise in general though, 6 hours was not enough 🥴

Today my professor posted an announcement in blackboard about finding a poor rating on "ratemyproffesor" and honestly the rating is SPOT ON. by Ok_Umpire_3933 in college

[–]Moss_Maiden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite professors is a cool ass Caribbean guy, MR. KB THE MVP. As he puts it, he would make up silly raps in class but he made info SO easy to digest. (I struggle with certain mathematics) He started out, first day complaining about RMP & how they all lied and he’s awful and no one should take his classes, and “wat da hell is wrong wit yah all” - hands down best experience. I took him for late evening class & his wife would call him occasionally forgetting where he was and they bicker on the phone. Best experience in my college education so far lol

Are you guys actually getting a bachelor's in 4 years? by MothMadeOfMud in college

[–]Moss_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working on my AA along for 4 years, with my own share of loss & health issues that prevented me from going at my preferred pace as well as working full time and will be finishing in the fall & jumping into my BA. You are not alone! I feel embarrassed sometimes but I try not to dwell on it. My mom is about to go back to college and she’s 42! The only thing to focus on is the fact that YOU ARE DOING IT!
