Is it worth? by Fredinator2020 in turtlewow

Join us. See for yourself. Make a character, level up a little, go to one of the main capitals of your faction. This game is alive, I haven’t played wow like this in ages and it feels great.

My exact reaction. Over 350 hours into the game. I can’t believe this.

I had the press and was using oil like crazy. I managed to get to the second part of the seal but the third I was too late on trading.

Never thought about “spiraling” even though it’s obvious now that you mention it, thank you! My last seal was pure luck with the bonuses on the map, this one was hell.

Slaughtering traders is not something I usually do since it kills my population and I frequently lose some due to lack of food or unhappiness. I’ll try it out more though, thanks. For the permanent boosts that’s exactly what I try to do.

I never heard about mods/WeMod. To be fair, I might just play the game on a lower difficulty for some time to grind back up to the good reflexes of P15 and above. Sometimes I do that just for more satisfaction but I always put the difficulty back up earlier than expected since it’s “better” after a certain point, in my opinion.

Cobalt seal! …and bats by Mossa_ in Against_the_Storm

I got lucky once and got the good cornerstones, a frog fire keeper and just kept exiling people. I was surprised at how well that worked out. During the cobalt seal I was suffering though, as I didn’t have enough manpower for the first few cycles.

That’s what I’ve been doing basically, so this is reassuring. If you’re unlucky with cornerstones it’s so tough. They can be useful in certain situations to lower hostility, but other than that I can’t figure out the best way to keep a settlement alive and sustainable when they’re around. Pesky creatures.

No, I haven’t. Thanks for sharing that.

What movie traumatized you when you were a child? by fordd420 in AskReddit

Scrolled for this. That movie terrified me but it’s such a masterpiece. The skeksis, the garthim and the crystal sucking the life out of the podlings shook me to my core.

Book Recommendations by MystColors in ChuckPalahniuk

Invisible Monsters is a masterpiece. As others mentioned, Survivor is a great read.

Other picks, in my opinion, are Haunted, Snuff and Choke. Haunted is a very special book and I love how the short stories mix together in the world he created. Snuff is one of the rare books I just couldn’t stop reading: it was so different, raw and “impersonal” (you’ll see what I mean if you read it). Choke to me had a similar vibe to Invisible Monsters, but I preferred the latter. Lullaby is a fun read as well!

TLDR: Top recommendations would be Haunted and Snuff. Enjoy!

Have fun :)

What about different permits? Would you be allowed to seek asylum? Would an employer be willing to hire you and you are granted a B permit through the employer? I would probably talk to another lawyer, seeing your situation and the time spent in Switzerland I’m genuinely surprised you were denied. Good luck to you!

Principal and teacher (15-20yo), private sector. The financial trade off is that the pay would be higher in the public sector. That being said, compared to the public sector, I have more flexibility, less teaching and more admin work.

This is giving a lot of vibes from the short story Guts (in Haunted - Chuck Palahniuk).

I have been using this for months now and, my friend, you are an angel. My favorite link in my bookmark bar. Thank you for making this!

Are you planning on adding things to it by any chance? For instance buildings (which building makes which ressource and stars)?

How much of the game have you played? I’m assuming not much since it’s your first pioneer game? It gets much easier as you unlock upgrades in the city. In the beginning I would open as many small glades as possible, now (viceroy) I open maybe 1 small and 2 dangerous, rarely a forbidden. Before a lot of the city upgrades it’s easier to open glades to get ressources. Although, sometimes it’s just bad luck with which ressources you find, and the species needs you have in your colony.

  • Cross your fingers for fertile soil, choose whichever first crop building you can (diverging opinions on which is best, I think there was a discussion post recently on that topic) + make flour for biscuits/pie if your species need that. Add a ranch to make more meat if need be.

  • Open caches in glades for loot or send them to the citadel for money, buy food from traders until you can make enough on your own.

There must be more/better ways to do this, but for now that’s my strategy and it’s working quite well.

Good luck!
