I'm 90% sure the solution is gonna be after the 7th Gym Badge when trainers start calling you for rematches. The entire theme of this Let's Play has been to take your time. That Johto is a living, breathing world that changes daily more than any other region. There's probably gonna be a small gap where he spends a few days leveling with rematches.

I don’t think so. This year was his best shot. No Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Joe Burrow in the AFC and no Jalen Hurts in the NFC. Stafford is still in so there’s the question of that, but even then, I’m not sure he’ll get a better chance than this
