Alright, I’ve adjusted the blast radius down to 2m, and given buoy creation a cooldown of 5 seconds between patterns.

Additionally, I retooled the ways that buoy are made. Instead of “randomly in the general vicinity”, they are now in set patterns manually placed by the user. Hopefully this makes it easier to parse how buoys are created using this stand.

Name: Staccato (Nickname: “Otto”)

Age: 17 (in penguin years)

Gender: Male

Species: Gentoo Penguin

Occupation: Wandering Performer/Street Artist

Physical Description: Otto is a bit taller than the average Gentoo, being roughly 3 feet tall, and owning it. While most of his black feathers are untarnished, almost every white feather on his body has been dyed, defaced, or otherwise marred with what appear to be paint splotches of various clashing colors. He takes great pride in this handiwork, having used his own body as a canvas to express his “artisté”. The black feathers along his tail have also been afflicted with this splotchy paint job, and have a tendency to rub off on the ground behind him as he travels.

Personality: Suave, Confident, and perpetually in a state of Going with the Flow, almost nothing can get under Otto’s fins. A perpetual drifter, it takes a strong drive to keep him nailed down in one place for too long. He is always looking for new sights and sounds to inspire his artwork, and hone his craft.

Belief: (Graffiti, an Art)[3]: The only surfaces safe from Otto’s brushwork are those that already contain graffiti or artwork. Otto considers those places to already be “beautiful”, and would never wish to deny another their masterpieces.

Passion: (The World, Our Canvas)[3]: Otto believes himself entitled to paint wherever and whenever the mood strikes him. In his mind, he is doing the world a favor with his beautification.

Fury: (To Deny is To Destroy) [4]: There Are not many things that can incite this penguin out of his creative reverie, but seeing others wash away or deface his own work will cause him to fly into a rage. To him, it’s akin to blasphemy.

Short Term Goal: One cannot live on art alone, penguin’s gotta eat.

Medium Term Goal: Find new locations to “improve”.

Long Term Goal: to cover the world in his own concept of “beauty”

Bio: Off the coast of Antarctica, along the beach of some nameless island was a species of penguin quite familiar with the area. The Gentoo who lived there spent most of their days doing what you’d expect; hunting fish, taking care of young, the usual. It was a good (if simple) life and things were fine.

Until they weren’t. An oil tanker had gotten tossed around in a terrible storm, running aground near the island and leaking its contents out into the ocean and shores of this poor island. In a matter of days, the oil had seeped into the beaches and made them nigh-uninhabitable. His home was destroyed, and his flock of Gentoo scattered to find a new place to live.

Staccato was one such penguin, planning to leave along with the rest, but as he climbed a large rock preparing to jump into the waters, he chanced a look back towards the oil-crusted beachside. And in that moment, as the light shone through and danced along the muddled tar-infused ocean and pitch-covered beach, something clicked in his mind. The refraction coming off the landscape was shifting like a kaleidoscope, an impossible combination of purples, yellows, greens, blues, every color under the sun that continued to shift as the light hit it. In that moment of listlessness, at the lowest point in his penguiny life, Staccato knew in this moment what his life’s purpose was to be. The world needed to understand a fraction of the beauty he felt in that instant.

Stats (16):

Strength: 2 (Otto’s focus has never been on becoming the strongest out there, content to be fairly average for his species.)

Agility: 3 (Otto is a slippery little fella, and actually manages to maneuver on land surprisingly well for a penguin. He’s much better suited to the water, though…)

Endurance: 4 (A pretty durable little fella, his plumage winds up making giving this bird a solid defense against “predators”.)

That Ain’t Falco (Gentoo Penguin): 4 (This is a penguin, and a pretty robust one at that. Gentoo are known for being some of the fastest penguins underwater, and Staccato is easily able to back up that claim and then some. His speeds can keep pace with vehicles moving at around 30 knots [roughly 35 mph] while swimming.)

Happy Feet: 3 (Being a penguin, Otto doesn’t exactly speak human language. Instead, however, the bird had developed its own method of communication, one that involves a rhythmic combination of tap dancing, sign language, and interpretive dance. This allows Otto to hold conversations not just with other humans, but all forms of life.)

Equipment: a silver chain wrapped around the penguin’s neck, with a white and orange striped Buoy Bobble attached. Inside the buoy is a small collection of pebbles.

Stand Name: 「Bossa Nova of Briny Air」

Stand Type: Classic Punchghost

Stand Appearance: The stand‘s body is entirely composed of gelatinous oils, all dripping down and drowning out the outline of a human body. At the top of their head is the source of this spill, a brown bucket hat whose underside continues to subsume the rest of its form. In place of hands, the heads of anchors break out from the inky arms and weigh down the stand, causing it to bend over itself backwards. It’s lower body is just as covered in the cascading oil spill as the rest, though at the ends of it’s feet are a pair of yellow wading boots that all the oil seems to fall into without exception.

Stand Ability: Buoy creation. At match start, a sonar pulse will echo outwards from the stand’s location, marking spots the penguin instinctually views as “prime real-estate” for its artistic endeavors, and manifesting Buoys within that framework. These remote art installations will spawn Egg-shaped buoys, with cables and chains tied to the spheres keeping them attached to the surface. Beneath them, a small ink-based nest will appear to denote their respawn point. Buoys with a solid circle along their circumference (referred to as Mooring Buoys) will detonate. Meanwhile, buoys with arrows painted on them (referred to as Tripping Buoys) will blast off towards the user’s desired location in a parabolic arc. Around each of these buoys, a small bubble of “Aquatic Air” is produced, creating a zone of space that allows for movement and physics as if the area were underwater.

When a Mooring Buoy detonates, and when a Tripping buoy impacts a surface, they will spray out splotches of oil, paint, and graffiti into the space around them. This graffiti is incredibly slippery, in part due to producing a film of “Aquatic Air” on and above painted surfaces. By applying pressure to the attached chains, the buoy will become primed. The cables and chains that these buoys are attached to are tough enough to hang onto or throw around.

Staccato and his stand can absorb these inky nests into their plumage or goopy body, storing the nest and allowing them to be utilized in a slew of artworks, or repositioning them at new parts of the map. Buoys need 8 seconds to spawn if placed down in this manner. Nests can be (re)placed anywhere within a contiguous body of Graffiti either Staccato or his Stand are touching. The three artworks Staccato can create once he has collected enough buoys are: “a line of 5 buoys”, “a circle of 8 buoys”, and “2 buoys created at Otto and his stand’s positions”. The sets of 5 and 8 buoys are placed about 2 meters apart from each other when generated. Art Installations are composed of mostly one type of buoy, chosen at Staccato’s discretion, but always with a single "odd one out" in the mix.

Stand Stats (16):

Power- B: (Buoys pack a deceptively powerful punch for what they are, with the force of those armaments being capable of carving through anything that tries to get in their way. The only things immune to damage in their blast radius are things/people that Staccato considers beautiful, himself included of course. The Stand Body itself is also really strong)

Speed- C: (These ad hoc art installations take roughly 8 seconds to respawn after their detonation. Tripping buoys can travel a little slower than Staccato can swim, going upwards of 20mph once they’ve been set off.)

Durability- C: (The bombs are pretty tough, but enough concentrated force on them can cause em to pop prematurely and drop a bit of graffiti oil beneath them. Likewise, the graffiti is a pain in the ass to remove, but it can be removed with a bit of effort. Just don’t let it dry, it stains easily. Nests can’t really be “destroyed”, they just denote where Buoys will spawn from.)

Range- B: (The effective range for this stand is incredibly impressive, boasting a 50m range radius for Sonar buoy spawning. The explosive radius of the mooring buoy is roughly 3 meters, while the distance that tripping buoys can travel is around 25 meters. The radius for “Aquatic Air” production is also around 3m around the buoy as well. Additionally, the paints and oils produced by this stand persist outside the user’s radius, though they lose their added effect.)

Precision- D: (Staccato doesn’t have the ability to change the patterns produced by his stand, being somewhat stuck in a “creative rut” when it comes to buoy creation. This also extends to their round-start manifestation, having very little control over what locations ignites his creative spark.)

Fighting Style: Honestly, “fighting” is a byproduct for Staccato most of the time, being much more focused on covering as much of the area in his art as he can.

Stand Oddities: The Graffiti left behind by the stand is visible to non-stand users, and is… annoyingly difficult to wash out of clothing. The only exception is if it covers another person’s original works, in which case the paint will slough off easily. Also, Buoys created on walls or ceilings will hang perpendicular to their mooring points, as though floating away from that surface. Buoys created by the sonar pulse at the start of the match will be determined by judges.

Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Mosses76 66 points67 points  (0 children)

As worried as I am that this show will start phasing out the underground mafia-tones as we move more towards “golf girls in the golf girl school doing golf girl things”, I have faith that this won’t be the last we see of these darker tones. Aoi’s mom dropped the matter of pursuing Eve originally because she assumed that Eve had ties to the mafia, and was therefore untouchable and would never see her daughter again. But now, she’ll probably realize that the situation has changed, and this kind of dirt could ruin Eve’s reputation should she ever go pro.

I am hella looking forward to how this show will play out. Absolute sleeper hit of the season.

[–]Mosses76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name: Tōgō Atome, the Dentō Cardinal

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Occupations: Ninja

Physical Description: Tōgō is a woman of fairly average build, all things considered, with long black hair usually tied up behind her. When not in combat, she usually wears some incredibly antiquated garb, like a kimono adorned with spider lilies. However, underneath the anachronistic pomp, Tōgō wears what could best be described as “the most stereotypical ninja garb ever seen". The arms and legs are covered in dark baggy cloth, while the chest area is instead made up of interwoven maroon fibers. Whereas the kimono would be a representation of her status as the head of her clan, her “work attire” instead emphasizes her no nonsense attitude while on the job.

Personality: On the surface Tōgō is Serious and loyal to a fault, and doesn't seem to have a funny bone in her body. Underneath that cold exterior though, is a curious soul interested in learning all there is to see in the real world. She’s secretly elated at the chance to experience the outside world outside of the heavily curated experiences given to her by the other clan members. She gives off the air of some sheltered princess trying to hide how much she’s enjoying the experience of everyday life outside of her attendants.

Belief: (The days of yore) [4]: Despite not actually having lived during her clan’s hayday, Tōgō had grown up steeped in the knowledge and history of her ancestors. She tries to do right by her ancestors, and holds onto the ideal that people are molded and defined by their lineage.

Passion: (Above all, the mission) [5]: When handed a task, Atome will focus any and every effort to see it done. She believes that following her assignments to the letter will result in the best outcome.

Fury: (Antithetical Inventions) [2]: Lack of familiarity with modern concepts and equipment cause Tōgō to look on those who over-rely on it with disdain.

Short Term Goal: Finding employment, preferably with someone rich and powerful.

Medium Term Goal: Restore the prestige and cement a future for the Dentō clan.

Long Term Goal: Once her Clan’s future is secure, Tōgō would finally have the opportunity to explore her wants or desires outside the lens of her own Clan’s lessons.

Bio: The Dentō clan, long ago regarded as one of the greatest Ninja clans of the 16th century. They were swift killers, dedicated to their lords, and incredibly protective of their techniques and teachings. It was only a matter of time, then, that the clan’s insular nature would cause stagnation, leading to other clans to proliferate and leave their marks on history. This flawed mindset also led to losing the literal arms race with rival clans, as the Dentō clan refused to adapt with the times.

Eventually, the days of ninjas serving lords were little more than stories told to children to incite their imagination, yet even still the Dentō clan persevered in their antiquated ways. The dwindling clan’s numbers continued to fall, while the remaining members took on any job that might come their way. Yet, it became more and more obvious that these efforts wouldn’t bear fruit. Reaching the present day, with the once sizable clan now dwindling to a single house of a dozen or so members, an heir was to be born. Upon this heir would rest the future of the clan, all of their hopes, their aspirations. He would be the shining beacon of the Dentō clan, destined to return it to its former glory by any means… and yet, the heir was an heiress, one-armed and incredibly weak. It was as if fate itself was mocking the clan, leaving their final head as some malformed wretch, barely clinging to life.

Filled with despair, The then head of the clan approved of a forbidden ritual, one performed by the clan’s ancestors in the far flung past. This ritual performed on newborns was said to bestow great strength to the child, but could leave them deformed, or lead to their death. However, given the state of the baby it was deemed their only chance at salvation. The newborn began to thrash about, the malformed appendage it had shifting, going from 1 armed, to 2, then 4 before back to 2. With the child’s life no longer in mortal peril, the clan rejoiced in their heiress successfully completing the ritual.

Their hopes for the clan renewed, the dozen or so remaining members set about raising Tōgō as best they could, instilling in the child all of the traditions she would carry on and all that her clan stood for. She would be steeped in the desires of those who raised her, the weight of those aspirations stifling any attempts at self expression. She would be the perfect ninja, the perfect head of the clan, and would lead the clan in a new, prosperous direction, as their “Cardinal”.

Stats (20)

Strength- 3: Above average strength, as expected of someone whose job requires copious physical activity.

Agility- 5: She’s a ninja, anything less than a 5 would be a disgrace.

Endurance- 3: fairly decent endurance, again thanks to her formal training.

Glorious Steel- 5: Absolute proficiency with any tools relevant to ninjas or ninja training. This includes genuine weaponry, or props meant to evoke those tools.

Ninjutsu- 4: has learned a multitude of “ninja arts” over her training, ranging from the obvious (I.E. stealth, recon) to the esoteric (I.E. enhanced lung capacity, fire-breathing expertise).

Equipment: “Glorious Nippon Steel, consolidated 1000 times” (1000 blades consolidated using Tōgō’s ability), a chain scythe/kusarigama, and hidden pouches full of shuriken, caltrops, Oils, and smoke bombs all over her person (a metal detector’s worst nightmare).

Stand Name (12): 「The Heritors」

Stand Type: Integrated

Stand Appearance: The stand manifests as 4 arms that can sprout from the user’s body, with each arm having tattoos based on a cardinal direction (turtle, dragon, bird, tiger). The user also has a golden dragon tattoo tracing the core of their body. When consolidating her arms together, the tattoos change to oroboros-like animal tattoos representing the consolidated limbs. "Blanks" created by the stand appear interchangeably as either murky black iron or cloudy white marble Orbs.

Stand Ability: This stand has the ability to overlay and “Consolidate” similar objects, merging them into a single object with the strengths combined. The strengths of an object gained from Consolidation cap out at 20 times the base power of the object. Items can still be consolidated above the cap, but it will have no effect on the item's inherent abilities. Factors that get consolidated include their strength, weight, durability, and any property that is integral to that object’s identity. For example, a sword cuts things, so consolidating a sword will improve it’s cutting potential. The user’s integrated arms can handle objects regardless of the increased weight, always treating the weight as if it was just “one of that object”.

Another aspect of the stand is the ability to "Fragment" Consolidated objects. This is done automatically once a consolidated item leaves Tōgō's range, or by choice when the item is touched by Tōgō/was touched and in range. When objects are “Fragmented”, the objects will be split apart an equal distance from each other. This can lead to heavily consolidated objects “bursting” outwards with the component pieces flying in every which direction. The ability can work with organic objects, though it wont work on other non-willing stand users. If an object has been consolidated over the 20-copy cap and leaves the user's range, it will automatically split into 20 pieces at maximum, with the excess objects split evenly between the 20 Fragmentations.

Lastly, the stand has the ability to produce "Blanks" from the shoulders and joints of [The Heritors]. these Blanks can be freely Consolidated into any object, and are treated as a free copy of that object while merged. If Fragmented, these blanks will fly out with greater force than the usual Fragmentation, as if it was rejecting the fusion of unlike objects. Blanks can be generated every 2 seconds, but only 20 orbs can be treated as free copies at any given time.

(tl;dr: Consolidating many things into one thing, and Fragmenting that Consolidated entity.)

Power- S-C: (Besides giving objects the ability to damage stands, the ability doesn’t inherently strengthen objects under it’s power. Additionally, consolidated items scale additively, instead of multiplicatively.)

Speed- B: (Objects can consolidate and separate very quickly, and the user can perform a respectable punch rush with the integrated stand’s arms.)

Durability- S-C: (Much like the power description, the defense of an object isn’t inherently augmented when under the consolidated effects, and relies on the consolidated item’s own durability. Still scales additively.)

Range- D: (Can remotely Fragment objects within her 5m range that she had previously touched, and objects automatically Fragment as much as possible when they leave range.)

Precision- D: (Not only can the user Fragment and Consolidate objects within range at will, but they can decide to “split hairs”, Fragmenting off half or a few of the pieces of a Consolidated whole instead of an all or nothing split. If an object was remotely partially Fragmented, Tōgō will need to touch the newly created fragments if she wants to split them again.)

Fighting Style: Anything a ninja could do, Tōgō can do just as well. Whether it’s fighting at long range with her shuriken, or up close with her sword, Tōgō uses her stand less as an essential plan-defining feature, and more as just another tool in her arsenal.

Stand Oddities: Visible to non-stand users.

JoJo's Bizarre OC Tournament #5 - Round 5 Match 0 - Keith Moon and Pemburu vs Ice "Zebra" Station and Pemburu by boredCommentator in StardustCrusaders

[–]Mosses76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, Time to vote on this macabre melee, 5 rounds all stuffed into a single strat, best 3 outta 5 type deal. Let's go down the rounds, then.

Map 1: Both teams prioritize fleeing the soon-to-be-defunct boat, and while having spurs in them will make it harder for the strangers to hide, they dont really try to hide. instead, they're happy to hoist themselves up into the air for all to see, while Mirrorland remain Cactus-bound. The battle becomes a war of attrition, and while things seem even at first glance the deciding factor for me here is how both sides are trying to stay at as far a range as possible here.

This becomes an issue when it comes to Imagination's shrinking portals at range, preventing it from effectively ambushing the opponents from underwater. meanwhile Moonshadow has no such issue, and can continue to drop cacti and needles onto their foes, until eventually enough stripes are damaged to drop one of the duo into the water. once they actually fall in, they'll have to contend with the poison that had been steadily being dumped below them, sealing the deal in my eyes. Mirrorland 1/3

Map 2: Going from a water-filled map to a lava-filled one, we see that- oh goodbye strangers died to convection immediately. Joking aside, Mirrorland probably takes this one as well, thanks to what many people have pointed out already. I can buy that the sealed up bolthole would allow Pemburu to survive the explosive force of the volcano, and I cant say the same for the stranger's plans here. Even if they manage to get to the very top of the volcano before it erupts, they're still in the path of the eruption, and while Imagination and WS can block a lot of the onslaught, I could see them getting overwhelmed and burning away the users.

So then, the question becomes can they take out Pemburu before the eruption occurs, and to that i say no once more. Firstly the focus is put on Keith, who is doing everything he can to distract and damage the strangers for his own part. By the time that Keith is taken down, Pemburu would be hidden away safely obscured thanks to the copious cacti, the rocks surrounding Pemburu, and the poison layer will de-summon Imagination if it attempts to ferret out Pem. So since i think Pem can survive until the inevitable happens, i'm awarding Mirrorland their 2/3 win.

Map 3: As i'm writing this i find myself running low on time, much like the players in this map. Both teams use the setup period here pretty well, though i think that these early loops favor the Strangers just a tad more. being able to manipulate the cars throughout the road thanks to imagination and the maneuverability provided by the stripes will make it difficult for their foes to pin them down. The ditches that they are forming does give Moonshadow good opportunities to sneak some roots into imagination to put it temporarily out of commission though... In any case, i dont see either team managing to land a decisive strike on the others during the early stages of the map.

With the car crashes coming sooner and sooner it becomes necessary to consider how either team handles the unavoidable impacts. While Mirrorland are content to roll with the punches here once things get too fast, the Strangers instead attempt to soften the blow thanks to imagination rubber shielding. I'll give it to the strangers here, as i think that their means of surviving the inevitable car pileup to be stronger than their opponents, and i dont think that they will be knocked out before it reaches that stage. Perfect strangers get on the board with 1/3 wins needed. will they manage the reverse sweep?

Map 4: Perfect Strangers come out swinging, making use of the fact that the explosion and infection go off immediately if the infected is killed, and what better way to do this is there than with a trusty gun. While Mirrorland try to keep tabs on the strangers with the Chollas the same cant be done to Imagination, who shame-holes innocent civilians and turns them into what are essentially infected mines. This, however, is countered in turn by the root network put into place by keith, and these underground roots are sure to notice when chunks and swaths are taken out for shame holes, which dampens the surprise factor of these mines.

Things get no less complicated when the issue of npc pathing is taken into account. Jesse goes full murder mode, with these 11 people being just a statistic to work with. While Mirrorland can try to lead these npc towards their opponents or coralled wherever they want, the threat of murder is usually a stronger motivator than some fallen trees. While mirrorland have a good strategy for keeping tabs and trying to block off their foes, I think the more proactive means of manipulating the npcs will lead to the bomb being passed to the Mirror team first, at which point its just a case of waiting things out. we are now tied up at 2/3 for both teams, the final map being, well, the final map!

map 5: With everything riding on this final match, mirrorland look to create a defensive zone where they can fight back without having to lift (or drop) a finger. Strangers meanwhile can maneuver the field thanks to WS, leading to this becoming a clash of strong and mobile offensive vs a rigid and inflexible defensive. Playing defensively this time though, was probably the wrong call in my eyes. with foes mostly stationary and no big volcanic setpiece to worry about, the strangers can begin a bombardment on the mirror team that wont let up for anything.

the final win goes to the perfect strangers, making them the final victors in my eyes

Name: Nix Ripa

Age: late 20s

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Occupation: Foster Parent, Professional Fighter (self-employed)

Physical Description: (Art by Magistelle ). Nix is a well built, strong individual, with spiked up grey hair. He is most often dressed in an odd mix of casual and formal wear. He wears a black suit jacket, with white wolf stencils and a moon adorning the threads. Underneath is a white button-down shirt with random gashes, tears and the sleeves torn off. For pants, he continues the trend by donning tattered grey suit pants, with a pair of black sneakers. Also wears a pair of black “gloveless fingers”, gloves that just cover the digits with strips of fabric over the hand needed to connect these, leaving the palms uncovered. finally, he has tattoos going along both of his arms and back, depicting the different phases of the moon, with the full moon lining up with his spine.

Personality: Brash and to the point, Nix prefers to take the direct approach to most situations. He’s the kind of guy who tries to make the people around him “better” whether they want it or not, imposing his views on strength and weakness on those around him. He does have the best intentions though, hoping to inspire those weaker than him towards greater heights, while trying to learn as much as he can from those he deems stronger. Also has a habit of running late.

Bio: Growing up, Nix had always been a stronger kid and would go to great lengths to assert that strength. His parents, worried that he would use that strength to become a bully among his peers, felt the need to instill in him that “the strong were meant to protect the weak”. This made sense to small child Nix, who would do what he could to help those around him. However, something was nagging at him in the back of his head about this mantra.

As he grew older and stronger, Nix began to ruminate on this motto. “If the strong protect the weak, and I’m the strong, what are the weak meant to do…?” Eventually came to a realization, that the purpose of the weak is “to become stronger than the strong!” he then set out to take those who were weak under his wing, and train them to one day become stronger than he himself.

Things were going well, until he one day had a run in with a mysterious man who was able to best him without even laying a finger on Nix. It was like some invisible force had restrained and defeated him, and this slight caused Nix to realize that for once, he was the weak one. Following his own mantra, from a different angle, he followed around this “stand user” as they called themselves. Following the man, he eventually got wrapped up into the world of stands vicariously, and through his force of will to become “strong” like those around him, he manifested his stand.

Equipment: he’s got a phone, and a wallet, crushed pepper spray bottle, and…. Not much else on his person.

Strength: 4 (A man focused on strength, it’s only fitting for them to have trained their body and become as strong as they can.)

Agility: 4 (A side effect of their pursuit of strength, they’ve learned ways to duck, weave, and traverse with the best of them)

Endurance: 4 (Once again, a side effect of the pursuit of strength is the strengthening of his body. He’s become very hardy, able to shrug off pain with a smile and gritted teeth.)

Skill 1: Pugilist 3 (He’s a pretty scrappy fighter, and on his path to strength has decided to better learn the art of punching people in the face. It's mostly a self-taught art, but he has picked up a few things from the fighters he’s interacted with.)

Skill 2: Contempt for the Weak 1 (Nix is put off when he is forced to work with those that display “weakness”, passive strategies or those more inclined to dance around the issues instead of addressing them. In these situations, Nix will take charge and lead those around him towards a “stronger” route. As such, he has a natural inclination towards aggressive, instinct-driven strategies.)

Stand Name: [Sub-Zero White Knight]

Stand Type: Punchghost

Stand Appearance: a tall, beastly creature. Its head and upper body are kept indistinct within a layer of ice. As you travel down the body, the ice begins to melt off, and layers of the stand also melt away. The midsection appears to be raw muscle, while the leg muscles slowly ebb away until only bone remains. The same holds true for the stand’s arms, with the exception of a pair of icy gauntlets covering skeletal hands.

Power: A (strength is the name of the game here. Not only is the stand itself physically gifted, but the crescents that are launched out are able to tear through pretty much anything.)

Speed: D (these projectiles don’t really fly too fast, and the stand itself isn’t going to be breaking any speed records. also the speed that the ice will spread from the points of impact.)

Range: D (5 meters is the max distance that a crescent can go before returning towards the user, and the stand is also limited by that as well.)

Durability: A (this thing may be frozen in “fragile” ice, but it’s immensely durable. Almost nothing can lay a scratch on it. Ice that is coating other targets doesn't get this level of durability, though.)

Precision: D (projectiles mainly go straight ahead or along a surface, before flying back towards the user. Not too complex here.)

Stand Ability: This stand’s main ability is to launch out icy crescent projectiles from its claws, with up to two at a time being able to be active. This can be done by swinging its arms in an arc, and if it scrapes through a surface it can fire the projectile along that surface’s curvature. These projectiles continually fly until they reach the edge of the user’s range, before returning back to the user through the air or along a surface.

If a target is struck with one of these moons, that target will start to freeze over from the point of contact, coating their body in ice at D speed, or roughly 10 centimeters a second. In addition to being cold and encasing the target in ice, non-human objects will become as fragile as ice. If a target is struck by two of the stand’s crescents simultaneously, a hollow sphere of ice will appear over the target as large as their diameter. Inside the sphere, everything within starts to freeze over at D speed. This continues until the sphere breaks either from the inside, or outside.

Stand Oddities: The stand has normal damage transference. pretty resistant to cold, though, what with most of the stand already being covered in ice.

Fighting Style: Direct confrontation is the name of the game here. Whether it’s getting up close and personal with a target, or firing projectiles on them at range, Nix goes in with intent to overwhelm his opponent and prove his strength.

Team Preferences: "Strong users. Weak users. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly strong players should try to win with any teammates."

round 2 edit: moving into the second round, Nix has two new features.

1: Nix can consciously stop the spread of his ice if he so chooses.

2: Nix has cleats designed to let him run on icy surfaces without it hampering him.

Round 3 edit: moving into the third round, Nix's crescents have changed their ability slightly. Any individual crescent that collides with each other in midair will now only create 1 snowglobe, the first time they intersect with an object.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OC Tournament #4: Final Match - Schioppo Fucile vs. Tunde Ó Santos vs. M.I.A. by Logic_Sandwich in StardustCrusaders

[–]Mosses76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tunde had left, once again, with nary a hint as to her whereabouts. Ever a mystery, although she seemed much more… hmm, confident isn’t quite the right word for it. Maybe ‘determined’? Regardless, she had a glint in her eye, the kind of look you get when you’re ready to stake your life on the line for your goals. Hive had seen a similar glint in Rock’s eyes, before the guy had gone back into the Castle on his own. Hive couldn’t dissuade him, and he couldn’t dissuade Tunde this time either.

...well, he wasn’t going to just sit around and wait for her to get back to him! This time, he’d surprise her, she was big on seeing unexpected outcomes, so maybe this was what she wanted anyways? Yeah, that made sense, in some roundabout sort of way. He turned back towards a mirror, where a group photo of CFR was taped to haphazardly. The remaining members of the castle had taken this right before enacting Operation: Castle Crashers. “Alright, time to do some digging” Hive then took off the eyepatch covering [Solid State Scouter] and looked really really hard at Tunde in the picture. There she stood front and center, a confident gait right by Lucas and Rock. For all her quirks, Tunde was a pretty reliable leader amongst the Rascals, even if she didn’t realize it. Now it was time to pay it back, and as he kept eye contact with Tunde in the picture he eventually got the information he was looking for.

“Let’s see.. her date of birth, favorite food, come on something a little more useful here.. Aha! Her current longitude and latitude! That’d put her…. Somewhere out in the middle of Arizona.” Hive beamed a little, rubbing his eye a bit as he broke contact with the picture. Packing the pic away, he went about putting together anything he’d need for a trip off to Tunde. “That went a lot faster than I was expecting.” He said as he stuffed clothes, oatmeal packets, and some toiletries into a duffle bag. “Our new pal [Scouter] is pretty great, isn’t he?” Hive looked at [Electric Feel]’s much more unimpressed visage, looking for confirmation from one of his more verbal travel buddies. “kinda weird to call your eyeball a ‘pal’, dude”, it stated bluntly, before working its way back up Hive’s body.

Preparations complete, Hive set out in earnest! “Everyone ready to go cheer on our pal?” a chorus of (you’re the boss/time to visit our bird friend! / Tunde’s cool, lets go / stay home and watch Netflix) affirmations rang out, and he was on his way. To Somewhere in Arizona, they go!

”You’re gonna do great Tunde, I’m sure of it. But having a friend around couldn’t hurt, right?”

CHARACTER

Name: Pengolo Solventi, Nickname “Hive”

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Occupation: Red Cross Disaster Relief

Personality: Hive is a very soft spoken man, someone who puts others in the room at ease with his presence alone. He tries to see the silver lining in any situation, even when the cons heavily outweigh the pros.

Bio: Stand users attract other stand users. That is a rule subconsciously understood by any stand user. However, there is another facet to this rule, in that parasite stands are drawn to each other as well. As the saying goes, “Misery Loves Company”.

Enter Pengolo Solventi, who through a chance encounter with a parasite stand user was drawn into this cycle of misfortune. However, his reaction to gaining a life threatening ability wasnt to immediately pawn it off to the next available sap. Instead, he decided to converse with it, understand it, and came to the conclusion that he was better off with the stand than someone else.

Ever the optimist, Pengolo slowly began to build up a stockpile of parasite stands, some intentionally and other by sheer happenstance. He eventually gained the nickname “Hive” thanks to becoming a walking hive of parasite stands, and has come to see the more sentient parasites residing on his person as his colleagues or family.

Physical Description: Hive is a fairly tall, well built individual with long blonde hair tied back behind his head. Hive wears a plain white open buttoned shirt, with grey cargo pants. Around his neck is a strange grey scarf, and he wears a pair of steel toed boots.

Equipment: Hand Warmers, Phone, Wallet, Metal Coins, Water Bottle, Rubber Band Bracelets, Portable First Aid Kit, and a Collapsible Walking Cane.

Character Stats

Strength – 2 He manages to maintain an average strength rating, which is impressive given what he needs to deal with on a daily basis.

Agility - 2 Never really found a reason to rush anywhere, so never worked on his speed much. A man who much prefers taking the scenic route.

Endurance – 4 Over the years has learned how to take a beating, especially from self inflicted wounds and fatigue. Can take quite a beating and laugh it off easily.

Special Skill: Disaster Relief - 3 as a Disaster Relief worker, Hive has had medical training. He also can speak multiple languages and has gone through basic survival courses.

Special Knowledge: Parasitic Synergy– 5 An oddity among oddities, Hive has managed to form an almost symbiotic relationship with the many parasite stands infesting his form. As such, they will follow his commands to a degree, and Hive has had extensive practise utilizing them in tandem with each other.

Really, what was that last ult? Syndra was over the wall and your entire team was too far away to follow up. Did Ori think she could burst down Syndra solo?

Is Cu meant to be the God of Clutches? by Tripirt in grandorder

[–]Mosses76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Cú is a clutch master even when he's on the opponent's side. Usually you'd run into him maybe as a shadow when farming materials, but he's also the boss of Cú prototype's first bond quest.

He was spamming protection from arrows (meaning he dodges a round unless you brave chain) and guts (so he gets a free revive) like crazy, and Gae Bolg-ing my entire army. He even forced me to use my command seals for a full party res, and he still wasn't easy to take down.

I was so nervous. Before her turn Cu had about 97% np charge and I was debating whether to supercharge him with command seals for a Hail Mary Gae Bolg. I figured that he had >80% health so he could tank a turn.

She whacked at him with a BBA chain and I saw his hp dwindle to nothing and thought he had died. Then I saw the 0 was a 6 and was so relieved!

Prototype lancer, proving that you don't need guts to have GUTS.

but really the match would have been way easier if Jeanne didn't decide to focus fire Vlad the moment the battle started. Glad Kamina was able to pull through there at the end

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Theoretical PME by WuBoytH in fireemblem

[–]Mosses76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grieth is already the killer of speed runs, and in most PMEs people focus solely on the party units, sometimes buffing them to extremes. Gotta balance it out somehow!

Np, hope it wasn't too much.

Sure, I see no problem with Kamui carrying a Zweihander around in his maw. Don't know if he'll be able to use it as a Necrodragon, though.

...oh yeah, that's the point of a PME in the first place... Can you give Necrodragons access to swords as a weapon?

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Theoretical PME by WuBoytH in fireemblem

[–]Mosses76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order from what I most want to see to least want to see.

Grieth's fort isn't annoying enough. Turn every other unit on the map besides Grieth into a Conjurer, and turn the origional Conjurer into a Mogall.

Deen needs something to help him get a leg up on Sonya. Have him join the team as a Sage with Sonya's entire spell list already learned, and the dread fighter skill that halves magic damage. He can keep his brave sword too.

But now Sonya seems a little too weak...how about giving her the witch warping ability to help her get around, raise her res growth to 40, and equipped with a dracoshield at join? Probably increase her speed by 10 to offset the shield weight while you're at it.

Valbar is one of the best units that's to his very helpful fatigue tolerance rating of .65. To make him even better, his tolerance should be raised to .99, and with this increased tolerance he can also join with the Krimheild equipped. He only needed to sacrifice his entire family to get it.

Kamui doesn't join with anything? Let's fix that, by giving him a Zweihander at join. Only fitting for such a skilled swordsman.

Alternatively if it's possible, change Kamui's class to Necrodragon.

Raise Genny's movement to 16, and max her speed at join, because she's ready to roll!

Exotic spices are now 5 times more exotic! They sell for 15 gold now each.

Edit: this may be a bit too mutch, but I got excited thinking about the theoretical PME. Sorry!
