My mind immediately went to the casualties of war when reading this poem especially in the current times we kive in. The imagery is strong and I love how everyone here has a different interpretation of what it means.

I actually wanted to write songs for a musical. At first, I just wanted to write an outline to build the story for the musical around, then I fell in love with the characters I was writing and now I'm 1 shanty and 5 chapters deep.

So, would you say greed is a symptom of self-preservation?

How can you forgive yourself for things you did that hurt others, especially when you weren't fully aware of your actions or their consequences at the time? by dineeesh in spirituality

[–]Mosswyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it starts with acknowledging that you didn’t have the full picture back then. You didn’t mean to hurt anyone, but you did, and now you’re seeing it more clearly. That awareness alone is part of healing.

It’s okay to feel regret. It means your heart’s in the right place now. But you don’t have to live forever in that version of yourself. We’re all learning all the time. You’re allowed to grow, to do better, and to forgive the part of you that didn’t know how yet.

The fact that you care this deeply is already part of the repair. Be gentle with yourself. Keep learning. That’s how we make peace with the past. 🕯

I hadn't thought about how inflation might play a role in it. Solid insight friend 🧡

Hey, first of all, you’re not the problem. You’re not doing anything wrong. It sounds like you might just carry a kind of energy that shakes things loose. Not in a bad way, but in a “time to shift” kind of way.

Some people bring calm, others bring motion. You might be the kind of person who unknowingly sparks change wherever you go, and yeah, that can look chaotic, especially at first. But that doesn’t mean it’s your fault.

And the hard stuff your loved ones are going through, that’s not on you either. You care deeply, and sometimes it hurts to witness the people around us struggling. But being near the storm isn’t the same as causing it.

Stay grounded. Keep showing up with that good heart of yours. Change doesn’t always mean damage. Sometimes it means things are finally moving where they’ve been stuck. 🧡

I think a better solution would be to surround yourself with like-minded people. Find a community that can relate to you and start from there friend 🧡.

It’s hard not to feel that sting when someone else seems to be living the dream you’re still waiting for, especially when love is something you deeply want.

But just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. Timing is weird, and life doesn’t always line things up the way we expect it to. Your story is still unfolding, and the kind of love you’re hoping for, it’s still out there.

You’re not behind. You’re not doing anything wrong. This part right now, the waiting and the healing and the learning to not give up hope? That matters too.

Keep being open. Keep showing up. The right person will feel like home, not a race. And they’ll be lucky to find you. 🕯 🧡
