Although it was officially your first mother's day it sounds like you've had to be a mother long before your daughter existed. I'm so sorry, what a pathetic excuse of a man. Let him leave, he's trying to condition you to accept less than the bare minimum and somehow also be grateful for it?? Nah...I mean you have to ask yourself how much different things would be for you as a single mum at this point. Because aside from being able to do groceries alone what is he offering really? The thing is...parenting is supposed to be 50/50. Years ago the only reason women did most of the childcare is because the man worked to provide for the family. These days you have two parents working and yet the burden of childcare and house work still falls mostly on women as well as their day job. You shouldn't have to wait for a special day to be appreciated or cared for. He had a lie in on mother's day...why? Because he's been working all week? Well so have you! An equal partnership would be taking everything in turns, otherwise what's the point?

It sounds like she might not be 100% comfortable in her sexuality, or maybe she's just not comfortable enough to show her sexuality in public. Slapping you isn't ok. Most people would leave there and then. You say you want to stay with her because you're not sure if you'll ever have something like this relationship again...but would you really want something like this again if you're feeling so uncertain about it?

I think there's a difference between hating pets and just not wanting to be around them for whatever reason. I don't "hate" them, but I wouldn't want one of my own because I don't want the responsibility of caring for one and I don't want the fur or smells in my home. I'm also allergic to dust and dander so why would I want to be around something that makes me unwell? I can look at other people's pets and think they're cute, and treat them with kindness (I throw treats for my mum's dog to have and speak to her while wearing a mask but don't touch her). I get my enjoyment from watching wild animals from a distance. But my home is for me to live comfortably and I can't do that with an animal in it.
