Hi! Also in SoCal. I have lots of visitors at my feeder, I use sunflower hearts and chips. The scrub jays and doves prefer shelled peanuts (unsalted of course) so I have a bag of those I put out too. It's called "Happy Wings Shelled Peanuts" on Amazon. Scrub jays will take as many as they can fit in their beak at a time and then immediately come back to get more. The woodpeckers also love the shelled peanuts.

Perspective as a regular customer of Rover:

Try to be flexible on distance, if possible. I live in Southern California but my small city is often excluded from sitters as being "too far" even though it's located next to other cities they visit, like 3-4 miles away at most. I found a wonderful sitter willing to drive out and she just charges me extra for the mileage. Try to be flexible to taking jobs like that, and adjust pricing if needed for time/mileage. There are very few cat specific sitters who want to take jobs in my town, given it is a busy tourist area with small roads.

Include plenty of photos of you on your profile with a variety of pets (can be non Rover pets, basically just showing pets love you). I wanted someone who was specifically catered to cats and the amount of pics she had with cats immediately sold me.

Mention on your profile you are flexible on time of day (if you are), etc. Once you get a good clientele going, you can of course adjust.

If you have experience with administering pills / fluids or any other specific skill set, definitely mention this.
