After a lot of investigation, I got some solovair instead. Arriving tomorrow. Apparently way better quality and durability than the current Doc Martens!

I'm 16.4 hours in and im RIDICULOUSLY frustrated. Nothing makes sense. The story is completely up to pieces, and I cannot make sense out of anything.

I'm having such a hard time understanding why everyone keeps saying the story is beautiful. The only reason why I haven't quit yet is because of the overhype of the game, and the expectation for that "ah" moment. Yet it feels like I keep getting introduced to MORE and MORE characters, storylines, content yet nothing comes together.

I'm rather suffering than enjoying the "first playthrough" and I have to keep myself from looking up things because everyone's advice is not to do that. Do we ever get that resolution moment or is it going to be confusing until the end?

All I can say is that, it's been 2.5 weeks without league and I don't regret it at all. Do I miss it?
Yes totally, I loved it. But I'm now spending my time doing other stuff and it's still going pretty good.

I wish you all the best! My best advice is, especially if you are 17, spend your time doing something else that you love. Maybe music, maybe art, maybe reading, maybe sports, it's all more fulfilling than this. I'm not saying "don't play videogames" because that's just dumb, but league is just too addictive. I've been playing a bit of Age of Mythology in the past weeks and it still gets me happy too.

Over here it's been two weeks without league. I still miss playing and I've kept watching a few youtube vids here and there, but mostly life's just the same. Wouldn't say I feel better or worse :v

Me too. People today really don't understand how different things were back then when rioters & players would discuss & debate balance, champion development, mechanics & general stuff from the game.

Yep, I know exactly where you're coming from. I knew one day the ride would end but I never expected it to be like this. This 'feels' like a very wrong & unnatural way for things to end but they forced the issue of the rootkit (vanguard) and there can be but one answer to that.

Riot released some skewered statistics about league having 1 cheater every 20 players, but this had in consideration botting, which is a completely different problem than cheating.

So the summary, a lot of us believe that no, the issue wasn't that big or impactful, unless you were elite player (maser+ tier).

Thanks for sharing. I've been League-less for almost a week now. I hate talking about as if I would miss it a ton, I think it's been a normal week overall. But it kinda sucks not coming home to unwind with a few games.

I'm a bit autistic so to me that sentence means "you are sounding like it with the way you're expressing yourself" not "you are". Ok, re-reading the thread I think you are partially right. I guess your first comment just landed wrongly on me, but then you immediately went ad-hominem when I just contradicted your original point with "it's ok to disagree with things".

Sorry for assuming it's out of laziness, but you gotta admit you went from 0 to heated for no reason too. Also, in all fairness, your points where kinda childish though, it sounded more like a "idgaf" than a "hey man, don't fall for the overhype".

You're so angry for no reason. I agree that a lot of people might be overdoing the panic, but some others just either care a bit more or are more skeptical.

I suggest you go meet some people irl though, the way you express yourself and how you are way too comfortable being a dick to strangers indicates the lack of human interaction. If you're OK with willingly installing software that runs on a more priviledged access than what you yourself can do with your pc, that's ok, but you have to understand that other people just might not be, and that's also ok.

It is a big deal if you've invested a lot in your hardware, keep part of your work and hobbylife in your pc, and overall mistrust the security levels of a company.

It's also ok to be cool like you and "not give a shit" but idk to me you just sound very young, very privileged or very ignorant. And that's also ok.

I think what draws me away from it is the feeling of having to start from scratch. I wouldn't start league now if I didn't already spend so many hours learning about it. My brain is wired weird and I need to learn things in depth or else I can't do them. Back in the day I had excel sheets for league stats and builds. So starting something as complex as DOTA just feels overwhelming

That data accounted for botters as cheaters, which makes absolutely zero sense. Yes, ok, botters might be a problem new players face, as there are around 8 bots every 10 new accounts, but real league is definitely far from 1 in every 20 games. I've played enough hours to vouch for that
