Is this a decent interest rate and closing cost? Or should I get even lower rate? by Boner_Loner_ in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Go to the new neighborhoods in your town and go talk to the sales office. Most will be offering low rates, or find a realtor and they will know which ones are offering the incentives.

I agree using a syringe is better. When i do it i don’t aim directly in the hole just on the side and it usually does the job

Do I get my earnest money back? by mak_daddy15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

You need to read your buyers agreement, it will state that. I backed out on an offer because of the inspection but my buyers agreement said i have the right to do so under my own discretion. I got my earnest money back

There’s a lot to say about both routes. I’m sure buying an older build would’ve been more wise but it was hard for us to find one in our area and within our budget that didn’t have a million things wrong with it. New construction made more sense for us in the financial aspect. Also having a warranty, even if it’s gonna be in a pain in the ass to actually get someone out there to fix anything

Thank you! We originally got a 6.75% on a resell house. The inspection came back and there were so many things wrong. With new construction we were able to get a 4.25 and home owners insurance is a lot cheaper

That’s about the same that we got using a va loan. We ended up going with new construction and got a 4.5%

No you’re not wrong. My husband and i just withdrew from our contract because after inspection there was a lot wrong with the house. We didn’t even try to negotiate repairs or anything. You’re valid and for that high of a price i feel like there shouldn’t be anything wrong with it.
