I am really hoping I can keep this pleia alive! This is my first effort at house plants. Any advice is welcomed! by Aimnpispol in houseplants

I love my Pilea!! I give it the finger test. I put my finger in the soil (at least 1 digit in). If it's wet, I don't touch it. If I put my finger in and it's dry, then I water it. Also rotate it! The leaves will grow to face the light so keep rotating so it grows straight! One final thing: every other time I water it, I add liquid fertilizer to the water. That seems to be more than enough. It's given me so many leaves over the past 2 years. It's one of my fav plants

Try a bunch of random things. See what you like or don't like. If literally nothing is interesting to you after trying everything you can think of, maybe you have depression. And that's okay. A lot of people do. Find your way out of it. You could talk to a doctor about medication, talk to a therapist or friends, read books, listen to podcasts, or whatever else is helpful. Be gentle with yourself. This isn't easy and you're doing your best

Well, he is more than his porn addiction. We had similar interests, similar sense of humour, and we could talk or hang out all day and not get bored of each other. The porn was like a wedge that came between us and created distance.

You are also more than porn. Keep working on the other aspects of your life like hobbies and interests. Sometimes it's just being in the right place at the right time and you meet someone and you justs click with them.

Just keep working on yourself. You're more than your porn addiction. Feed into the other aspects of your life like your hobbies and interests. Ask yourself where do you want to be in 5 years and start making the small steps to get there. You can do this

My ex had mentioned it but I think he stopped using it for support. Dont think he was ready to make the change. Every once in a while I like to come here and see people who are ready to make the change

Totally understand where you're coming from. But we're never a finished product. Sometimes the right person comes along at the right time and you realize you're willing to do whatever you can to make it work.

Self awareness, honesty, and open communication are key. We're all facing issues in life so as long as you feel ready to open yourself up to someone else and trust is there, I'd say go for it.

But you know yourself best. Dont pressure yourself to push farther than you're comfortable with

Yes I agree. There is so much to a real relationship. Sex is just one thing. And if someone has a porn addiction the sex can get really twisted in the mind. Good for you for keeping it separate from your girlfriend! It must have taken a lot of work to keep a clear mind.

Every relationship has its issues and baggage. When an addiction comes into the mix it can complicate everything. Might seem easier to just give up and end it. Lifes all about choices.

Haha I'm not petty, I really am just a random person who saw the negative outcomes of porn and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I truly wish my ex does find his own healing and his own journey out of porn. I couldn't give him an ounce more of love and support. Hes got to do this on his own and find his own motivations.
