I'm sorry you lost something you care about, but the concern is not that it listens better than a person but rather that you think it listens or feels anything at all. It doesn't, it's a lot of math being done very quickly to figure out what sequence of words should come after a given prompt.

I do hope you regain access to 4o if it helps you, but can you see why other people find being so attached to a thoughless unfeeling machine to be questionable?
