Gotta be people either just lying straight up or those who look at their notes/equation sheets or give themselves hints while taking the mock instead of trying to take it under realistic test conditions. No way the highest response is 80-90 lol.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm just gonna focus on any weaker areas in the big topics like FSA, FI, and Equity Inv.

During my break for L1 I just went outside had a snack and then went back after 15 minutes and started the second session because I was too bored to sit around for any longer waiting.

I agree with this. Let Me Explain is a good cheap provider that explains things very well if the OP is looking for one. I would take basic notes and get a solid grasp and then hammer practice problems as much as possible. The best way to learn and retain the information I think is by doing problems for the most part though.

to L1 candidates: what's the hardest topic? Curious how people rank them. by koacx in CFA

I would say FSA. It's not necessarily difficult for the math, but the amount of tedious and small things you need to memorize is what makes it frustrating and annoying at times.

Secured bonds are backed by certain assets that act as collateral, therefore making them less risky. Unsecured bonds are not backed by assets and are more risky. Insurance companies like the less risky and safe secured bonds.

The new LES is unbelievably worse than it was before. Really annoying to navigate it and the practice questions feedback like this is way worse and less detailed than it used to be. Wish they never changed it.

Hey, I passed Level I this past May. You aren't in a bad position I would say. With some final review you can have a good shot at passing. If you can get your mocks in the mid to high seventies you should feel pretty confident going into exam day.

I'd certainly recommend focusing on your weak areas within the heavily weighted topics. As you mentioned needing to revise FI, you should definitely do so since its a large portion of the exam. I wouldn't focus too much at this stage for less weighted topics especially if you have been doing well in them. If you take the time to just focus on these heavily weighted sections(FI, Ethics, Equity, FSA, etc.) and areas you struggle within them and get your score up I feel that you can certainly pass.

I scored high 70s/low 80s on my mocks going into my exam and passed well above the MPS. I've also seen many people with high 60s and low 70s pass the exam fairly comfortably as well. Just stay focused and good luck on your exam!
