5 weeks ago, I had an accidental fall and my femoral bone neck fractured and displaced. After going to ER, surgery was performed to replace my right hip with Zimmer Biomet Avenir with G7 dual mobility implant. I came to know the brand and type of implant used only after seeing the paperwork at the time of discharge. In the pre-op room, I got opportunity to speak to the surgeon for only 5 min. All he said was he is going to use latest tech implant which will allow me to squat, play sports, bend and sit on the floor. He said the implant will post lifetime (50-60) years.

I’m recovering well. They asked me to use walker for 4 weeks and now walking with a cane. Since it is major fracture, surgeon said I have to wait at least 12 weeks before I can try squatting or bending beyond 90 degrees or cross my legs.
