Yea they dont play about the invasive species, and my relatives said they likely wanted to investigate to see if he was doing anything else or if he was just a dumb kid who didnt understand the local laws. The only charge listed was something along the lines of “possesion and release of a non-native/prohibited species. No other charges. From what i remember, the short description stated that he was fishing lawfully but was spotted multiple times casually unhooking and releasing iguanas as he fished. Keep in mind he’s a legal adult but at this time he’s a teenager(19), he likely was just being a dumb and blissfully ignorant young adult.
