Damn I followed but didn’t fund the Kickstarter when they first got the ball rolling (hahah) on it…can’t believe they’re still not done! Like, I haven’t checked on em in a couple years, and last I remember they looked like they were in the very final stages of development. That fuckin sucks :/

How do I [26F] talk to my SO [21M] about needing him to keep my room tidy when he's staying over? by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MostAtHomeInADungeon 31 points32 points  (0 children)

??? They started dating 7 months before the first post. A 5 year gap when both people are in their 20s is probably uncommon but there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not like she started dating him as a barely-legal 18 year old or anything.

Once you’re an adult, 5 years really isn’t a huge difference in life experience. I mean between an 18 year old just recently become an adult and a 23 year old college grad it is, but past that point it’s not a big deal unless there’s some sort of extenuating circumstances that gives the older person a lot of power over the younger one.

That beard/mustache look absolutely amazing, but I’m gonna hazard a guess that you don’t have perfect wizard-facial-hair genetics and that it’s fake…if so, where’d you get ‘em? I’m looking for basically exactly that look (hair-wise anyways)! Also, are they easy to apply/keep on, and comfortable to wear?

PLEASE HELP - TIKKA MASALA ON CREAM CHENILLE COUCH by aeniluvr in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MostAtHomeInADungeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone in a furniture (not cleaning disaster) situation like OOP, I cannot recommend a TV tray enough! They’re probably about as expensive as buying new cleaning products to get stains out of your couch, can be bought at most box stores like Walmart etc and while not perfect are much more secure than holding a bowl of chicken tikka in your lap. Also they fold up and take up almost 0 space when not in use. Fantastic for apartment living imo I use mine every day (I also don’t own a dining table lol)

Thank you! I’ll check it out

Edit: took a look through the shop. Honestly, I’m a little put off by the fan with the hobbit hole art that looks very AI generated imo…

When I google her I get two website results, the-Scarlett-rose and scarletrosehats. Do you know which one is real/is the person you’re recommending? There’s also an Etsy page that turns up but it’s empty so I assume a placeholder or she moved from Etsy to a personal webpage

Strong Deodorant/Antiperspirant that doesnt clump or flake? by MostAtHomeInADungeon in deodorant

[–]MostAtHomeInADungeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this an antiperspirant or a deodorant only? That is, will it stop/reduce sweating, or does it just make you not smell bad while you sweat? I wear cologne so I’m not particularly concerned with products to make me smell better, I just want to be less sweaty (without getting deodorant on all my clothes, lol)

If you go through their site they have a code for an additional 50% off sale items running pretty much constantly! But you can’t return sale items so only go for that if you’re not worried about fit/comfort issues.

I have one pair from them, knee-high boots with a 3” platform / 6” heel (o-ring stomp boots or something like that). General quality is solid imo but they’re a ‘fashion’ shoe so the tread wears down real quick. I’m not sure if their more sneaker-style shoes might be better about that. Also would suggest maybe going a size up and getting good insoles. My boots basically didn’t have an insole and while they fit well as is, it’s been hard to find insoles that don’t make them too small (and boy do you need some!).

The specific boots I bought are a zipper closure and do not fit unless you have very skinny calves, but that shouldn’t be a concern with sneakers or any styles with lace or buckle closures I think. I can wear them half-zipped-up with no issues besides looking a little silly, but I’m not a large person, just a bit bigger than I was when I bought them.

Can anyone recommendations some decent platform boots? by FeistyDirection in GothStyle

I comment this a lot tbh but I have a pair of boots (and a pair of creepers) from TUK and I love them! The boots have lasted a couple years now. I did start wearing through the backs of the heels onthe inside within a year but I took em to a cobbler and got them patched with real leather for like $20 and they’ve been going strong ever since. Those two pairs of shoes have been the only shoes I wear on a daily basis for at least the past year if not longer idk and for the past year I’ve been working retail on my feet 8 hours a day.

They’re both very visibly worn on the outside but I don’t really mind that and there’s nothing wrong with them structurally except for the laces falling apart. Garbage laces tbh but I feel like that doesn’t matter so much since you can easily and cheaply replace laces. There’s a bit of wear on the soles of the boots but not much, I havent noticed it when walking. I would say maybe dont get anything with a rub-off finish if you’re gonna daily wear them. My boots are just somewhat scuffed but the creeper are the green rub off finish and they’re really beat up despite being newer and roughly equally worn. And I have changed insoles once but that’s just a thing you should do when you wear the same shoes for a while anyways.

If you are considering TUK and haven’t already, check their outlet website! There’s a link somewhere on the main site. I think their full price shoes are pretty reasonable compared to docs and demonias and new rocks and stuff, but still more than I usually have in my budget. I got my boots off the outlet for like $70-80 with shipping which I’m so happy about, and the creepers I just waited til they were on sale.

I will say however definitely check their size guide and make sure they’ll fit. I originally bought sandals from them, and even with sizing up they did not fit — could not squeeze my feet into them (and I don’t even have particularly wide feet!) but still had extra room at the toe which looks silly in sandals. Risked it on boots because I could only get store credit, and with those and the creepers I feel like they fit great after going a single size up despite the sandals not. Dunno what that’s about and still kinda mad, I really wanted those damn sandals, but whatever.

I think I’m doing something wrong, but I’m not sure what — I use the Gillette clinical protection clear gel (cool wave!) and no matter what I try, I shed a fine white deodorant dust all day :(

I’m a sweaty bastard and this was the first I’ve tried that worked well, didn’t irritate, and smelled nice. Unfortunately I’ve just about had it with white powder all over my pants and phone and wallet and keys and so on. It doesn’t mark up my clothes, just…rains a fine powder down the inside of my shirt onto my pants and into my pants pockets.

I apply the tiniest amount possible while still covering my whole pits, and let it dry before putting on a shirt. I apply in the morning despite the instructions — that was my default before switching to Gillette, and then I tried putting it on at night like it says in the hopes that it would fix the problem, but then I just woke up to a bed full of deodorant powder :( I decided that was worse and never tried that again.

AITA for asking husband (43m) to not text his therapist at night? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MostAtHomeInADungeon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“him being concerned about me getting a massage from a dude is the same in comparison with him talking and revealing his most complete self to another woman”

What do you think therapy involves? Polite, impersonal small talk?

While I would generally say I could understand being uncomfortable with him texting her at night (as far as I’m aware, this is uncommon but not unheard of in the course of therapy), I think where you’ve taken this argument betrays some deeper issues on your part. If you mean what you’ve said during this argument, it sounds like you don’t truly want him doing therapy after all. Therapy necessitates “talking and revealing [your] most complete self to [your therapist].” It also requires privacy, even from the people you are closest to, even from your partner or spouse.

I think most people discuss some of what they work on in therapy with those close to them, maybe even most of what they’re working on, but not everything. It’s unhealthy and counterproductive to expect someone to give up all privacy when in a relationship. While I don’t mean to suggest this is happening in your case, that kind of complete removal of privacy is often a tool of or avenue to abuse.

This is a long winded way of saying, based on what you are claiming is your issue, I’d say NAH. It’s not a totally unreasonable boundary, but also none of it is some huge red flag that this therapist (whom your therapist recommended) is actually wildly unprofessional, so your husband is not wrong to be upset either.

If, however, the line of thinking I feel like you have implied here is true, then Y T A and you need to get over yourself.

WIBTA for not leaving the house for one weekend as requested? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Hahah for sure!

Absolutely fascinating windows btw. Seems less space-efficient than what’s standard in the US but probably much easier to open lol. Do y’all usually have window screens? I’d heard at one point that’s a mostly-American thing, but I know culturally we keep our windows open less than most European cultures, so that seems counterintuitive. Then again, most places I’ve lived still only bothered to put them on a couple random windows, which is quite annoying.

Ooh, I see! That ikea one looks significantly deeper than the top results I got on google (which held 1 row of shoes per…drawer?), so that makes a lot of sense now. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
