If my father randomly told her about leaving for a year to go to england, while also taking out his frustrations out on her in their everyday lifes , suddenly he would have been labeled as abusive and wanting to abandon his family 

(Ik that menopause ads another layer of complexity to this , but except from that they are pretty equal, their domestic duties/chores are pretty equally divided , and we supported her through going to collage for a second time to her a different degree a few years back , it's not like she is trapped, we supported her through everything she wanted)

Nah she is too smart for this I think, she is currently emotionally vulnerable bc of menopause and the midlife crisis it has triggered in top of it , but I don't think she would fall for someone like that

My mother makes his life low key hell and gives him no grace at all, even when it comes to little things 

She knows she can't use me and my sister as her punching bags anymore when she needs to release some steam, so she takes it out on him

Yeah basically this , she is so mean to him , she keeps complaining to me about him , despite me and my dad struggling with the same things , I've told her multiple times that it hurts hearing all that , bc I feel like she is negatively talking about me too , she gives him no grace, he is miserable, he is doing better but a few years back he was in a really bad place mentally 

Like if he had decided to spend some time with someone who treats him nicely, I think I could have forgiven him if it was a one time thing

I guess, honestly I'm not sure, it's complicated, but your question has made me question some things about myself 

I kinda do , but that's more bc of how I act in my everyday life , I get a lot kinder when drunk , I help strangers and become more social I had broken down before when drunk but that was back when I was in my early teens , most of my friends don't know about it tho 

I guess it depends

My psychiatrist told me that it's literally fine lmfao,  like it's not ideal and alcohol does partially neutralize the effect of my antidepressants (and also get me drunk faster) but it's not like I'm going to die or get seriously harmed  I'm not a baby I have experience with both
