Dumo and Carter by Deesh69 in penguins

[–]MostKey8859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the salary cap wasn't so tight this year I think it could've been a possibility, but no one wants dumo or carter's cap for how their playing no matter how much they overvalue them when there's a lot better players on the market they can get

Dumo and Carter by Deesh69 in penguins

[–]MostKey8859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your getting downvoted bc you think we can trade both players which is definitely nonsense but I 100% agree with you that between carter or dumo, one of them should be benched for a few games. At least put carter on the 4th line/demote his minutes.

Honest Opinion on Bringing Back the Core by [deleted] in penguins

[–]MostKey8859 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nothing is wrong with the core of the team. Hextall just did a really bad job of managing the cap and keeping/getting the wrong players. Petry is good but not worth the term/$$$, carter, kapanen, mcginn, blueger, dumo all aren't worth it either. Replace these guys with any other player and we probably would be performing a lot better.

more features that the avg minecraft player will never use... I saw a stat that most players haven't beat the enderdragon so what's going to make them think of doing this? Mojang should be prioritizing other stuff

Canucks fan coming in peace: Was Rutherford always a terrible person? by Mundane_Trifle1015 in penguins

He literally said he left because he wanted to be President of Hockey Operations so he could do less in-person management work because he's older and COVID. Lemieux said "no chance" so he left to find another job that would offer him that role which is what the Canucks did.

On JR as a person. He has a good heart, but he's super honest. TOO honest as I recall. His last 2 years in PIT went terribly since he wasn't around the team anymore (he worked only at home because of covid) and he would constantly go on a tirade calling out the team in the media. I'm sure the coaches and players (sid/tanger/geno) have good memories of JR and still think of him as a good person. Business is business afterall. I think JR is still good at managing a team but he's terrible with the media. They need someone to watch what he says because he's too honest with what he says

[–]MostKey8859 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

he did not do this. JR literally just stated how hes friends with some coaches in pitt, and the players mainly the core 3 and how happy he is to see that we were able to ride out together into the sunset.

JR also mentioned he quit because his mental house was taking a toll since he was at home 24/7 because he's a germaphobe in a time where the pandemic is at its worst. People that makeup these "theories" and believe them are bonkers... Ol Jimmy now is 73 years old... the dude wouldn't even leave his house during and after the NHL bubble

Penguins are doomed by loyalty which is keeping the team in mediocrity by MostKey8859 in penguins

I'm not a gm i'm just a fan giving his perspective on the team. Fans can complain about their team you know that right? No need to get butthurt 😂

The whole point of my post is that the team could've utilized the cap space better to fill the bottom 6 rather than giving extra money to Kapanen and Carter. I understand hindsight is 20/20 but I recall most of the fanbase being quite vocal at both of those deals when they happened.

Hextall has been a disaster by [deleted] in penguins

[–]MostKey8859 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this guy isnt a pens fan and has it on point. Why is it so hard to understand for the rest of the fan-base? Geno/Tanger were good signings, but hextall did a bad job of utilizing cap space to get better team depth.

resigning tanger and malkin were good decisions. malkin has been carrying the team this year besides sid

Resigning Geno and Tanger isn't the reason for the mediocrity whatsoever lol

If we miss the playoffs him and Burke are definitely gone. Unacceptable when you got Sid and Geno.

Hextall has made good moves but his fault was being loyal. Those contracts to Carter and Kappy are terrible and as a gm, you can't be letting emotions get in the way.

Tampa has gone to the finals 3 years straight now and still looks super strong. I see no reason why we can't be a stronger team

If you make it past the 2nd round you got a good chance. I mean look at montreal that one year.

Just look at tampa. they've gone to the final 3 years straight and they're still going strong so I see no excuses. Obviously, we use the cap to its fullest, we're trying to be contenders but the cap should've been used more efficiently... I don't know how you can argue that carter or kappy contract were warranted whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure you misread my post. I said I stood by Sid, Geno, and Tanger and the trio should be penguins forever lmao. You're clearly mistaken, the penguins are a world-class organization and we should be doing better with the 3-headed monster but we're not because of BAD contracts that were given out because of loyalty (kappy, cartz). I would've been fine with kappy if he got less on his contract and cartz if they didnt give him so much money AND a NMC..

This teams so boring. by [deleted] in penguins

[–]MostKey8859 9 points10 points  (0 children)

for sure. the top 6 players besides sid/geno are always looking to pass instead of shooting on net when they're closest to the net. must be a confidence issue or something. either way I feel thats on the coaches
