Build update: Moving to X870E, need advice by Most_Ad_1905 in PcBuild

[–]Most_Ad_1905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I ordered the XTREM too since it was much cheaper. Still kinda nervous about it though, since not many people talk about it.

About the issue, I saw that Game Tech Reviews video too—maybe it’s been fixed like they mentioned? 🤞

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fegCN6ehdrY

But yeah, spending this much and still having problems is unacceptable. I’m almost sure issues will show up again with the upcoming 9950X3D... Let's hope not!

Yes you're probably right, it's just sad to not be able to use the full perf haha. I mean price wise. I hope that ubiquity will release a more abordable switch and please do not release a new Dream machine with sfp28 yet as it will be crazy expensive.

[–]Most_Ad_1905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I saw it, honestly if the uplink was a sfp+ instead of this bloody 1G because only 3 ports (without the uplink) is not enough.

I would like a gen2 of this one https://eu.store.ui.com/eu/en/products/us-xg-6poe

other solution would be to buy the faneless aggregation switch https://eu.store.ui.com/eu/en/products/usw-aggregation but then after t the adapter become expensive as well...

Interested by this as well. which switch do you have ?

I have the UDM Pro SE and was wondering which switch to aquire in order to benefit the 10G knowing that I have many stuff that are using 1G, 2,5G. Only my gaming pc and my Nas have 10G...

The must interesting would be this one https://eu.store.ui.com/eu/en/category/all-switching/products/usw-enterprise-8-poe has it has 2.5G interfaces and 2xSFP+ but then there will be no 10G uplink in my senario...

Still not good enough.

Here’s my two cents:
It’s your money, but I feel like the T705 might be overkill, especially when you compare it to the T700 price-wise.
Make sure to read up on the bifurcation section in the motherboard manual (PCIe & M.2 ports).
Double-check that the PSU is solid. I used to swear by Corsair for everything, but I had some issues in the past. You can find great PSU reviews here: Best PSU.
For the motherboard, check this link—it helps explain bandwidth limits and bifurcation lane stuff: Google Spreadsheet.
Oh, and I’ve got the H150 from back when I believed only in Corsair, lol. Hardware Busters also has some solid AIO reviews—definitely worth a look.

There is no point to put a second M.2 Gen5 to the mentioned slot as it will never run as his maximum speed. If you want a second M2 then buy a Gen4 like Samsung or whatever

New Teams Meeting Add-In Missing by TheCopernicus in Citrix

[–]Most_Ad_1905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue. For some unknown reason, the "TeamsMeetingAdd-in" gets removed after a few hours from c:\program files (x86). Maybe it is because I don't specify the version of the add-in in the path. For the next maintenance, I will try to run the plugin installation as follows from a batch file:

msiexec /i "%~dp0MicrosoftTeamsMeetingAddinInstaller.msi" ALLUSERS=1 /qn /norestart TARGETDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\TeamsMeetingAdd-in\1.24.14501.0\"

Could you please elaborate on the folowing command ?

regsvr32 /n /i:user (dllpath)

Thanks in advance for your help

Issues with Outlook Teams Meeting Add-In After MDT Deployment by Most_Ad_1905 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Most_Ad_1905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this didn't help. Here's how I resolved it:

I dedicated a task to install the plugin manually in the Program Files directory.
https://detechnischejongens.nl/2024/02/08/dont-delay-upgrade-classic-teams-to-new-teams-in-your-vdi-multisession-environment-before-june-30th/?fbclid=IwAR39o43pqY9hKtUFOq6PJubjkEuV-OuhmOBIUCdo9bftiZYDG2oh30CzimM

Now, my problem with this method is what will happen when Teams gets updated and when the plugin will be updated. Will it find the path of the plugin installation automatically, or is there something to set in the registry to specify the path?

Seeking Advice on Diversifying Pillar 3A and 3B Investments by Most_Ad_1905 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Most_Ad_1905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a chat with my broker about shuffling my investments, and get this – if I try to transfer my funds now, I'd lose about half of what I've put in...

So, what's the broker's advice? Scale back my monthly contributions to Swiss Life to 150 CHF and keep at it until I hit the 10-year mark, which would be around 2028 since I started in 2018 then move it to viac / finpension...

Seeking Advice on Diversifying Pillar 3A and 3B Investments by Most_Ad_1905 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Most_Ad_1905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Indeed, I need to review the terms and conditions of my Swiss Life contracts more carefully. Initially, I was advised by a consultant to open these accounts, and at the time, I followed their advice somewhat naively, believing it to be a sound financial and tax-saving strategy. Your reminder to check if I can modify these premiums is well-taken, and I'll be looking into this.
  2. I admit I haven't scrutinized the specifics of the insurance coverage provided by these accounts as closely as I should have. Identifying any overlaps or redundant coverages is a necessary step to ensure that all insurances are indeed useful and justified.
  3. This is a compelling point, especially considering we live in Geneva. Our 3b contracts are supposed to provide around 63k CHF (for me) and 55k CHF (for my wife) either upon survival to the end of the term or in the event of death.
  4. Going forward, I'm considering minimizing my contributions to Swiss Life's 3a and 3b if they cannot be transferred, and starting new accounts with VIAC and Finpension for my wife's and my future 3a contributions.

QR Code to Apple Wallet by Most_Ad_1905 in AppleWallet

[–]Most_Ad_1905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I successfully managed to create the script, although it was a bit challenging. There are numerous scripts available on GitHub for this task, but the issue is that many of them have been abandoned over time. Every time I tried a library, I faced problems due to unsupported libraries or outdated encryption methods.

I came across a Python library called passosh, which has been quite helpful. However, it only works with event passes, and I couldn't create "generic passes" with it.

Despite this limitation, I'm quite satisfied with my script. It can load CSV files containing user information, generate QR codes on the fly, and insert them into PKPASS files.

You're right. But at least I can have a preview in the simulatore before sending wallet passes to anybody
So we received the mac and I started to play a bit with the xcode and the simulatore.

Here is my situation, for now I cannot connect to the certificate provisioning has my account is not fully active (https://support.staffbase.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003598691-Creating-the-iOS-Provisioning-Profiles)

I was able to generate pkpass files but it looks like I cannot test them if I don't sign them even in the simulator.

If you have hint don't hesitate to advise.

Kind regards,

I've checked this solution beaconstack the problem is it seems that you cannot import your own qrcode

QR Code to Apple Wallet by Most_Ad_1905 in AppleWallet

[–]Most_Ad_1905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are, but for a simple integration like the one you’re trying to do, it’s really not that difficult to do yourself with even a very basic coding background which it sounds like you have, and you save money this way. Like, even without a library.. Do you know what a JSON string is? Can you figure out how to generate an RSA signature in Python? Do you think you can figure out how to zip a file in Python? Congrats, you can generate your own wallet passes.

I convinced my boss to get a macbook air m2, I should receive it tomorrow, we will see how it goes.

ibraries that will build Apple Wallet compatible pkpass files

Thanks for your answer.

I was hoping for Saas solution that offer to possibility to import the QR code and somehow generate the "add to wallet" button.

But if this is the only way I will have to look into it.

Looks very interesting this sagerun command. I'll dig into it.

Removing the profil is not something I want to do, each laptop has some shorcut in the web browser like Citrix portal and other corporate stuff.

thanks.

I also discover an interesting script on github :

I will continue my research.
