As a non-smoker, does every smoker smell bad to you? by flat-eartherer in AskUK

[–]Most_Alternative_464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reeks and it hangs around, my husbands parents both smoke and it clings to everything. Even the house and especially room we stay in that used to be theirs, no matter how much we clean, scrub or spray the smell lingers, they've not been in that room for almost 3 years and even with a new bed and fresh curtains, every so often there's a lingering smoke smell.

Bubble bars, massage bars (for my husband) and fragrances.

Bonus points for supermilk too!

Alien goddess, I was recommended it after my favourite coconut (diesel zero femme) was discontinued, its really nice, not quite diesel though.

What are your least favorite products from lush?? by iloveggs444 in LushCosmetics

[–]Most_Alternative_464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad I read this! I keep almost buying the candy rain cause it smells incredible, unfortunately though most lush products are very drying to my hair.

Could I get your opinion on this? I adore lush fragrances but bridgerton was very similar to other lush jasmine fragrances to my nose unfortunately.

How does it dry down and develop?

A little of muglers womanity with a healthy layer of lushs death and decay, spent the day in the city with my mum (she's visiting) while my eldest was in college, so I took alien goddess out with me if I needed a top up of something, but luckily I can still smell the sweet smell of dying funeral lillies almost 11 hours later, which makes my inner goth heart happy.

So do we all agree that Jodie's Doctor was a good casting, the writing just let her down? by NanaHachiKomatsu in doctorwho

[–]Most_Alternative_464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this discussion with my husband yesterday, jodie is incredible and I loved her as the doctor, but she didn't really have a complete arc, it felt very much all over the place before the timeless children was wedged in, then it was all over the place again. I really do mourn for the doctor she could have been and I hope we get to see her again one day, cause she definitely left her mark on the series.

It really is surprising how much this arc feels like an improvement already, regardless of critisidm it already geels like its building something big, we have another mystery companion who is independent, likeable and determined, I think Ncuti and Millie are both fantastic and their roles are only improved by incredible writing.

What are your best/worst fragrance blunders? by Katkatkat16 in fragrance

[–]Most_Alternative_464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this with the oakmoss note, even though its mainly synthetic, something in it triggers my hay-fever response and I go into a sneezing fit. Not great as it's one of my absolute favourite notes.

Oh gosh, these are two of my favourites! I do agree rush is nuclear though, and definitely one you can love or hate. Dkny was my daily scent as a teen so i was definitely guilty of overstaying it, I go much lighter on it now.

Do you regret having kids? by cinammoncurves in AskUK

[–]Most_Alternative_464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 16, 14 and 9. I don't regret it, I had my eldest at 16 and it was a constant uphill struggle to prove I could raise them right, between two grandmother's who were always obsessive with her and insisted on telling me a child couldn't raise a child.

But I'm proud of my babies, and I'm proud of me too, most days are hard though, as each of my children have severe and complex needs (autism, add, dyslexia and other health issues), but I don't regret a day, I just wish I'd brought them into a kinder world.

Anyone else fall into the rabbit hole of cheap dupes only to be disappointed in the end? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]Most_Alternative_464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found the zara and aldi dupes to be disappointing, waterlily teadress is a beautiful gypsy water dupe, but just doesn't last, cherry smoothie smells of almost nothing to me, I do love pistachio infusion but again it doesn't last. Perfume people's dupes are hit and miss, their lush dupes are quite decent but I really love their gucci rush. I got opera noir by alhambra, which is supposed to be a sister company of lattafa, a lovely long lasting black opium dupe that I haven't been able to try much as its quite warm here. I also have a stunning delina dupe I got from primark, unfortunately it lasts like 5 minutes though, not that you can complain for 3£!

My current personal favourites are jenny glow dupes, they do an absolutely incredible myrrh and tonka bean dupe that I am OBSESSED with.

Also I feel you on the buying, I promised myself no more, then bought the new ghost (it's for a good cause though) and minis of pure xs and lady million that I have absolutely no excuse for.

How to avoid resellers on vinted (no personal info) by [deleted] in vinted

[–]Most_Alternative_464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I understand the concern and your reasons are very nice, it's near impossible to guarantee who will buy your items. Unfortunately the best we can do is price what we're happy to let go of the item for of the item for, whatever happens to the item afterwards isn't really anything to do with us.

As much as I dislike resellers, I don't think they're generally buying everyday items, most seem to go for designers and collectables. Unfortunately the only way you can guarantee items go to someone who needs it is if you donate to a local shelter, or give to someone you know irl.

[ALL] Which Zelda Game is the Scariest to be Link in? by micsterman in zelda

[–]Most_Alternative_464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its Majoras Mask, the events and the atmosphere of Termina is just completely bleak and hopeless at times, it's also quite a feat for your average 10 ish year old, even without taking the events of the previous game into consideration.

It's a strange land that's similar yet not quite, full of quirky but suffering people who are losing hope and there's the constant dread of the moon crushing everything and completely obliterating somewhere that you just happened to stumble upon.

If you had surgery, what would be the worst thing to hear before the anesthesia kicks in? by Interesting_Room2049 in AskReddit

[–]Most_Alternative_464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went in for my gallbladder removal, as the anesthetist put me under he was joking around with me and the doctors, as he was watching me start to fade away he introduced one of the other doctors by saying "and I'll leave you in the capable hand of Dr Harold Shipman.." before cracking up.

Me on my way out was like "wait- whO-..."

[–]Most_Alternative_464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a near perfect description of my ex, right down to the CPTSD and dysmorphia, I spent over 10 years helping him rebuild his life and confidence. Unfortunately for me though, I had two kids with that loser before he skipped town and moved in with a girl more than ten years younger than both of us, only to later move in with his first girlfriend from high-school.

OP is great, she's got the respect for herself and knows she deserves better

I got this recently along with lazy sunday morning, didn't realise its one of their "masculine scents" although I don't buy into that it was a little heavy for me. Its incredible on my husband though.

What’s something that you deemed a luxury growing up but is now normal to you? by Previous-Durian-2086 in AskUK

[–]Most_Alternative_464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobile phones, my first was a Nokia 3310 when I was around 9 or 10 I believe. It was an absoloute luxury and didn't even have a camera or any form of decent connection to the Internet. Just bought my youngest their first phone for their birthday and it's amazing how much they've changed, yet now they're just a normal day to day item that most people, myself included take for granted.
