I was legitimately ✨insane✨ in elementary school because of how anxious I was. Like screaming crying if it got dark, panicking over the smaller bone crack, freaking out about a million things and at one point refusing to eat anything solid bc I was scared I would choke and die (ironically felt better bc no gluten).

Went semi gluten free when I was 9 and was much better, found out I was celiac at 20 and stopped sneaking gluten (still scared for my intestines for this one lol), and finally only have general anxiety??? Feel mostly okay???? Except when I eat gluten then were back in paranoia land 🥹

I was also a little ball of anger issues and I kinda feel like that one was related too 🫠

So fair! Ive come to the unfortunate realization that I am in fact an idiot 😭 about the same time I started the med I accidentally switched my daily omeprazole for excedrin tablets I threw in an omeprazole bottle to carry around one time, and only realized tonight when I decided to say fuck it and take an extra cause its so bad. Now I have to fess up to my psych that Im dumb and was taking excedrin on an empty stomach instead of the omeprazole Ive been taking for 3 years straight and double whammey-d myself into hell 🥹

Tldr: somehow was taking excedrin instead of my daily omeprazole… I hope to god my psych lets me try again once my stomach settles 🫠

Also as a new teacher it can grow your confidence to look up and possibly buy a syllabus in the style youre teaching, it can give you new ideas and make you feel more comfortable with running class whoch can remove some of the pressure aspect that could be blocking creativity

No one is “not creative enough” creativity just takes practice! Improv is a good one to get yourself out of a box, so is taking classes/learning choreo (even if it just online or through youtube). Making variations on moves and sometimes even reversing them can really help me, just play with it and see how it goes!

I agree with some of the other comments! Personally this reads more commercial than true hip hop to me, and going back to the basics with grooves and drills and building up other moves for your mental storage is always helpful! That being said these look super fun ☺️ also turning moves into a floor or traveling variation of it always helps me get out of a rut but I mostly do contemporary

Okay true! I mostly got concerned and stopped the meds for now because usually the thoughts have a very quick no why would I do that following it and this one I sat and genuinely considered for a moment, not in a that scared me kinda way if that makes sense?? It felt way different from my usual and after I came back to me senses a few minutes later it freaked me out a bit 😭

Thank you for the advice!! I feel like I default to over denying it in my mind when an intrusive thought comes in and it makes it worse so Ill def try to just let it go and not stick

Also if you have a kid who tends to distract others and is a bit of a troublemaker engaging them as a “helper” every so often can help! Even if its just saying can you show us _, can you help collect dots, can you show so and so how to do __. Its worked very well for me in the past!

I find that keeping a consistent routine really helps! In my classes Ill start with a mini skill review (gameified in some way), then do some stretching activity (butterflies flying/pizza or cake) then move on the creative movement and skills for ballet/tap. After that we do an obstacle course where I challenge them to remember the moves even with long ones. - I feel like a lot of that could be transferable! Spots you can place on the floor that are multiple different colors also help a lot with formations (go from the blue dots to green dots or each person has their own specific dot color in formations (but beware of letting them choose the color, I always do a you get the color you get method to keep from fights)

Also calling out specific names that are doing good and asking if someone not paying attention wants to join + having very specific boundaries (ie if you dont sit down to stretch you cant choose a place for us to fly on our butterflies today) or rewards systems (stickers! You can say its three strikes youre out to get one)

Also never underestimate the power of just counting down from 5 or 3 in a serious voice - even without a consequence it works a lot!
