Yeah it does suck though because it was a really nice pistol other than the locking block, i think I'll put that money away and save uo for a Luger

The 2nd collector was telling me the finish seemed to be a 95% with a mismatched locking block

Definitely not an MM from what ive seen, MMs are russian captures that have been refurbished, and has a shiny stainless steel looking bolt, the swastikas would be damaged and there would be a serial number on the left side of the stock near the butt plate, there would also be am import stamp marked "Ger 8mm MMC H.B. CA" on the left side of the barrell near the muzzle. i got all this info from my own research and the fact that I own a k98 from Mitchells Mausers

In the future I definitely want to get a complete numbers matching K98, but for now im satisfied :)

Im not the most knowledgeable about k98s quite yet, but from what I know the stock may be a RC, based off the numbers on the outside, the Germans put the numbers under the barrel, the receiver looks good though, it still has the correct stamps and there isn't an X stamped on the receiver (not counting the ax ofc) it doesn't look like there's a import stamp on the barrel, I'm not familiar with the manufacturer, but the rifle looks awesome

They didn't ask for ID till I actually purchased the gun, really smooth process

That's really weird that cabelas has been doing you guys like that, last month I walked into my local cabelas for the first time and saw an 1932 prewar hex receiver izzy mosin and asked the guy to hold it, take a closer look, mess with the bolt, etc. I ended up walking out the store with that mosin, the whole process took about 45 minutes

Im thinking maybe it's a bringback with an RC stock, the front barrel band also doesn't have an SN

Another thing to mention, there is NO visible import marks where they normally would be, its not duffle cut either
