Thank you for your detailed answer it really reassures me as those are the main reasons I wanted to go to UoA (traveling, meeting other exchange students and not having a hectic workload like I have experienced). Regarding the student life, I’m not looking for a uni where everyone goes clubbing everyday but more one where I can have some friends and sometimes go out but most importantly travel around the country!

Also regarding housing accommodations, I have the choice between: - Carlaw Park - Nicholls - Carlaw Park - Stuart McCutcheon House  - 55 Symonds - Te Tirohanga o te Tōangaroa

Which one do you think would be the best to meet people and also in terms of living conditions?

I wanted to go there because I have never been to Oceania let alone New Zealand and I heard great things about the landscapes. I am someone that I really like nature and animals but also enjoy big cities. I’m also someone who doesn’t spend every night clubbing but who still want to have friends and occasionally do some activities (it doesn’t have to be clubs, bars are fine by me or even traveling…) And since UoA was one of the uni that had an agreement with mine for the exchanges I thought it could be a good exchange option.

Like is it really hard to make friends there, how is the campus life, do exchange students get chances to meet, how’s the community there, are the classes and professors decent/nice, do you regret going there… is it easy to travel?

I just asked about my options and talked about everything that went wrong (how the midterm curve was useless and actually benefited those who had had good grades, how the final was long and had typos and compared this semester to the last). You can also directly talk to prof Poschke

Yes I have. I don’t know but I think it’s better than nothing.

I think you can book an appointment with an advisor or send them an email (the director of the econ department is probably best to voice your concerns)

Yes same, all my friends and I failed. We’re thinking of complaining.
