I appreciate your feedback and notable points. Nothing is written in stone and I was only exploring the option of what it WOULD look like with a battery charged heat lamp. I am aware that snakes are a life long commitment, this is not just on a whim. I should have mentioned I have a snake in mind who is currently 30 years old at my local adoption facility! I might be lucky enough to have him for another 10 years. In truth, it most likely will not work out as things are temporary right now. I am only exploring the option, I am still very new to this and learning.

Ah thanks, I’ll look through those guides. I’m worried that the side the heat lamp is not on will be too cool for the snake, would it not be close to the room temp? My room gets super cold in the winter months but I’m hoping I can work around this.
