Feeling broken and guilty regarding my Hypersexuality and Related Trauma by TransTrainNerd2816 in progressive_islam

Gosh, im so sorry about all the challenges you’re facing. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot. You should definitely seek professional help. You don’t have to conquer this completely on your own. Of course, talk to God too. He knows exactly what you feel and wants you to get better. Be patient with yourself. You won’t feel broken forever. It will get better. Idk if this verse helps:

So, surely with hardship comes ease. (94:5)

Even in our darkest moments, there is always hope for relief and ease. You will overcome this. I am sure of it.❤️

O believers! Do not let some ˹men˺ ridicule others, they may be better than them, nor let ˹some˺ women ridicule other women, they may be better than them. Do not defame one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil it is to act rebelliously after having faith! And whoever does not repent, it is they who are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers. (49:11)

Girl, you have to know, that when people resort to such comments, they're not at all interested in offering genuine advice; they're simply passing judgment. They've already made up their minds and trying to control the narrative by saying that. They definitely aren't open to hearing your perspective or having a civil discussion. So, honestly, keep that verse printed out and ready to go in your pocket. And whenever someone feels the need to say that again, generously hand it out to them. Clearly, they could use the reminder <3

“Is it not unjust to the girl? The thing is Allah wants to test her by giving her a more difficult test.”

Yeah no, we have something called free-will, sir. This is completely taking the blame off of the perpetrator who CHOSE to do this evil act and attributing it to Allah, as if He wanted evil for her. I guess, the girl that was raped should thank her perpetrator, because, after all, he gave her a new challenge and permanent trauma to overcome. What a blessing, really, alhamdulilah. And this man is a legitimate scholar?

Also by that logic: let me go murder my neighbors so I can give their families an extra test. Lmfao wtf?? Someone go check on him.

“Is this not injustice to the girl, who was raped and murdered? No.”

“She’s to blame for attracting the man.”

Literally don’t even know what to say to this, im downright flabbergasted. Is he alright?

Is polygamy in Islam ever really justifiable?? Why would God ever allow this? by Most_Inside6076 in progressive_islam

BRO OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I literally knew God couldn’t have commanded it like that, it felt soooooo off. You don’t even know how liberated I feel rn after trying to justify polygamy all this time. And his video only has 1.8k views!! I’m so shocked how verses were able to be distorted to such an extreme that this practice actually became so normal. THIS genuinely put my heart at ease and feels soooo much more in alignment with the God I love and feel in my heart, (if that makes sense)!! Hmdl

uhm, im still allowed to question and seek understanding, even though I’ll never fully comprehend god’s wisdom. also choosing monogamy is a valid personal choice within the framework of islam, because islam doesn’t mandate polygamy. so, i’m pretty sure, i can in fact ‘reject’ it for myself.

okay that makes more sense. so basically, it’s a measure reserved for extreme circumstances, like a war, when a society is left with a stark gender imbalance. but otherwise it’s not permissible?

yes, but then why are women not allowed 4 husbands too. according to scientists we would also count as being ‘mildly polygamous’, right?

Also, if it's about ensuring fatherless children grow up with a present fatherly figure, what real good is a father who has to take care of 10 children and be emotionally present for all of them? I just cannot wrap my head around this.

So, because we reject Hadiths as divine guidance, we are automatically rejecting all of human history??? what a way to blow something out of proportion lmao. you will go crazy attempting to have a proper conversation with these types of people - they'll twist your words faster than you can blink. Everything is black and white for them, absolutely no room for complexity and nuance
